Wild about Flowers

Check out this great black & white card that I received in a recent swap from Trudy using the Wild about Flowers stamp set (138728).

Wild About Flowers (2)

Black & White cards are great for beginning stampers or if you haven’t built a larger collection of supplies yet. And Stampin’ Up! has made it easier than ever since you have the option of the classic black & white Designer Series Paper package, Everyday Chic!

The Wild about Flowers stamp set is a great choice, since it covers some different occasions that aren’t normally found in a lot of our sets. You won’t be sorry when you choose this stamp set since it is classic and gives you lots of options. And Two Step stamp sets are great for easily adding color to your images.

Asking yourself, how  didTrudy made that great frame around the image? Well it’s our NEW Tags & Labels Framelits Dies (138282). This set of Framelits Dies contain 4 different shapes in several sizes – so you have lots of options in just one set.

On a personal note it’s been  crazy hectic, but wonderful last few days with both our daughter, Kaitlin and my sister in town. It was the first opportunity for us to see Kaitlin since she left for the Seattle Cascades back in June and her hug was intense when I saw her on Friday morning at South Cobb High School where they were staying and practicing.

Kaitlin and I DCI Seattle Cascades 2015

As you can see big smiles all around so I guess she misses us. It was also the first opportunity for me to see the corp in action. It was really quite interesting to see them working – and they are working hard in Hotlanta as they referred to it.  I hated to tell them it’s been a cool summer so far for the most part. LOL

Seattle Cascades DCI 2015

They performed at the Atlanta Dome on Saturday and received their highest score to date!

Larry was sooo excited to see the kid – he’s a proud dad and is counting down the last 2 weeks of tour.

We’ve also been enjoying the beautiful North Georgia Mountains with my sister, Mandy. She loves the water falls around the area and was able to fit three in this trip. Here is a group shot at Anna Ruby Falls near Helen.

It was a nice Sunday afternoon hike. Even our son Johnathan took a break from his buggy and joined us for this side trip.

I’ll be back on track later this week and look forward to sharing some more of the swaps that I’ve received. So many great ideas!

Garden In Bloom

Garden in Bloom is a fun whimsical stamp set that give you a lot of options since it is a two-step set that contains 20 photopolymer stamps.

Garden in Bloom image

You can use just the outline images like I did here on this card we made at the Bingo event.

Garden in Bloom Bingo

or use the sold images to create a softer look – or why not use both to create different look? Versatile is the word when looking at this set. And aren’t the sentiments lovely?

New to Photopolymer stamps? Or maybe want to refresh your memory? Here are some great tips for using our Photopolymer stamps.

Photopolymer Stamp Questions & Answers

Q. How do I clean the photopolymer stamps?

A. Use your Stampin’ Scrub and Stampin’ Mist just as you would with any stamps. If they ever get dusty or lose their stickiness, you can wash them in mild soap and water. If you use them with Stazon, you can also use Stazon cleaner on them. But, use it sparingly and make sure you do not leave traces of the cleaner on the stamps after cleaning.

Q. How do I store the photopolymer stamps?

A. They come in a cello bag, between two sheets of acetate. One of the sheets is conveniently printed with the stamp images for storage. Our clear-mount cases work nicely to store them in if you prefer. Store them indoors—don’t leave them sitting out in direct sunlight.

Q. What kinds of ink can I use with photopolymer stamps?

A. Our classic ink in the firm foam pads is the absolute best choice. Versamark and Stazon are also ok. Make sure you clean your stamps promptly after use to avoid staining or damage.

Q. Will the photopolymer stamps stain?

A. They are more prone to staining. Basic Gray and red inks seem to be the worst. Try to clean your
stamps immediately after use to avoid staining.

Q. Are the photopolymer stamps made in the US?

A. Yes. The photopolymer material is shipped from the UK and the manufacturing of the stamps themselves takes place in the USA.

Watercolor Wings & more BINGO

Bingo fun – continued with some projects. Here is the first of the 3 projects we made. This first card was made with the NEW Watercolor Wings stamp set (139424). It’s a fun 3 step stamping set so it lends itself to all kinds of color options.

Watercolor Wonder Bingo

I love the new Brick Wall embossing Folder – great for all kinds of cards including masculine ones! And of course, I’m sure you can tell I’m loving the Designer Series Paper Stacks! This card uses the 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (138432) the little flowers are fun.

As an added touch I wanted a pop of white trim – so I reached for my Rotary Addition to my Stampin’ Trimmer and the Small Scallop Cutting Blade. These blades are a lot of fun and easy to use. Simply pop the blade in and roll!

A quick bit of instructions and we were off to stamping stations.

BINGO make n takes (24)

Here are some pictures of the three project stations and everyone stamping – what fun it was to see how they made them their own.

Baker’s Box BINGO Treat

Want to see the little gift everyone received at the Bingo event on Sunday? I won’t make you wait – here it is!

BINGO Baker's Box Pillow Gift (3)

This cute little box was created using out NEW Baker’s Box Thinlits Die (138279) and it’s coordinating stamp set, All Boxed Up (138944/139340). Quick and easy and of course filled with what else? Chocolate of course!

Here is a photo of the group of Baker’s Boxes I made for the event. I can’t get enough of these delicate butterflies!

BINGO Baker's Box Pillow Gift (2)

I used the 2015-2016 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (138432) to create them in all the fun new In Colors and since we have a great selection of Sequin Trim now you can pick the trim color of your choice! I had a lot of fun with these little boxes. (You can see the entire supply list below.)

Just a quick tip when using this Thinlits die with Designer Series Paper, you’ll want to play with your sandwich since it cuts and scores at the same time. Designer Series Paper is thinner than our card stock. I found using my regular tabbed platform worked better since I could adjust the thickness better than with my Magnetic Platform.

After showing everyone what prizes they were playing for

BINGO prizes (7)

everyone settled in and we started with the first 3 games of Bingo –
