Birthday Blast & More

Today I’ll be sharing with you the projects and Make ‘n Takes that I made for my FREE Sale-a-bration Celebration Event that was held earlier this month for those who qualified during Sale-a-bration. I had a lot of fun pampering everyone – after all I couldn’t do this without each and everyone of you!

Here is my classroom all set up and ready to go.

Everyone had a spot with their treats and projects ready for them.

I made these cute little name tags using the Cool Treats stamp set (142982) so they could find their spot.

And everyone received these cute little post it note easel holders using the retiring Papillon Potpourri stamp set (132058/123759), Bitty Butterfly Punch (129406), Elegant Butterfly Punch (127526) and the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies (141497).

I had a lot of fun making these post it note easel holders. (I’ll miss this stamp set with it’s coordinating punches it has been one of my go to sets. So many uses!) I found these sticky notes for them once again at Target – don’t you love their dollar spot? If you missed it and would like to learn how to make these holders I have a quick Video Tutorial HERE.

I also made these little chocolate holders using the retiring Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper (141630).

It was sooo easy to whip up a batch of these. And after all who doesn’t enjoy a little chocolate?

I simply cut the Designer Series Paper into 3″ x 6″ strips, added a bit of Snail across the top and then folded them in half. Stamp my sentiment from the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set (140273) and used the Triple Banner Punch to create the flag. Then I tied some Baker’s Twine in different colors around the top and slipped in a Ghiradelli Chocolate. Yep! That quick and easy!!!

And what did we make? 6 cards!  This first card got my daughter’s seal of approval so I had to include it. LOL! It uses the Birthday Blast stamp set (142854/142866).

This second card uses the retiring Playful Palette Designer Series Paper (141657) and the Grateful Bunch stamp set (140691) along with it coordinating Blossom Punch (140612).

And this final card uses the retiring Party Animal Designer Series Paper (142823) and Balloon Adventures stamp set (142823) from the Occasions Catalog. It’s got such great sentiments in the set.

There is still time to these wonderful retiring products, but it is while supplies last now. You can find them in my Online Store.

This card uses a couple of the items on our Retirement list that I’m sad to see go specifically the wonderful Gorgeous Grunge (130514/130517) which is wonderful for collage or creating backgrounds with interest and the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies (140625) since they have these wonderful pop up areas to the flowers that create wonderful 3d effects.

Here is the tutorial that I’ve created for you – so you can make some too!

DIY Retreat, Balloon Adventure Slider Card & More!!!

Do you ever think that you’ve done something and then realized you totally didn’t do it? Well that is what happened with today’s post – I thought I’d already shared my DIY  experience with you, but instead the photos got lost on my computer. LOL!

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to be a vendor at the Georgia DIY Retreat held by the Salvation Army in Jasper, Georgia at Camp Grandview with 80 lovely ladies. It was a wonderful weekend of fellowship and crafting, of all types! What could be better right?

When I arrived I set up my vendor space with all kinds of Stampin’ Up! goodies to choose from. (I wasn’t sure what to expect for the DIY weekend since this was my first vendor event, but next time I’ll be more prepared.)

And of course I set up my crafting space too as we all started to arrive!

I worked on some past kits and retired items that I had – I plan to use the cards as part of my Christmas gifts this year for family and friends.

What a wonderful space we had in the chapel to craft in.

For meals we walked to the dining hall which was decorated so cute. Each table had a bee themed decoration.

It’s was such a treat not to have to cook for the weekend! And at each meal we were given a bible verse made by the different Salvation Army Divisions from all over the state of Georgia. Each was uniquely decorated and while they were all so different they were all beautifully done.

I got to learn more about the Salvation Army and their work in the community. If you’d like to learn more about the Salvation Army too check out their link HERE. During one of the meals Karen shared the story about WWII Donuts girls that I’d never heard before. (It really peaked my interested so I need to do a bit of googling.)

And  of course, there was LOT’S of crafting going on – over the weekend. Sewing machines and computers were humming, knitting, scrap booking, and even furniture was being painted and upholstered. I think every type of crafting project was represented. It was a lot of fun to see what everyone was doing.

I took a couple of wonderful skills classes – what a treat. I’m a life long crafter and love to learn new things! I couldn’t resist signing up for Rebecca’s class – the project was so cute and perfect for Easter and spring.

And these little bunnies were so easy to make! (We used Vaseline to create the crackle effect on the paint, but I’m not sure how well that is going to hold up with time and storage. Hmm….) They are hanging out to welcome everyone in my classroom bath.

They make me smile every time I see them.

I also taught a skills class – A Spinner Card class and got to paper craft with some lovely ladies whom I enjoyed getting to know.

Want to see the cards we made?

Two great movement cards! Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun making the cards – And the Shooting Star stamp (141616/141619) set fit in perfectly with the theme of the retreat Bee Still and Wait for the Glue to Dry!!! LOL!

So today I thought I’d share a FREE PDF Tutorial for the two cards so you can make them too.

So In Love

Over Presidents Day weekend I attended my annual retreat with my friend in Helen at the Tanglewood Lodge. I’ve really grown to treasure this time with them – it’s a wonderful break from the every day routine. I feel very lucky that the Peacocks have included me. They’re a wonderful group of ladies who came together during their children’s Camp Fire years and have continued to gather and travel together on a regular basis. Doesn’t that sound like a fantastic? While they all are very different they enjoy their time together and this event includes multi-generation which is so wonderful to see.

The lodge is a wonderful building that has a great space for us to both craft and sit and relax and with the 2 kitchens there is always a wonderful smell wafting through the air. (Especially when some of the teenagers make everyone some simply yummy cookies on Sunday night!)

And this year the weather was simply gorgeous so I was able to enjoy some of the outdoor areas – eating lunch and enjoying the unusually warm weather for February. Last year we had to end early due to ice storm warnings! What a difference a year makes!

And we had a little visitor who needed some special care. This 3 day old created quite a stir. What fun it was listening to the group try to find a name for this little guy Friday night as we settled in.

My friend Kathleen pampered me a bit with some projects she brought with her all cut and ready to go – all I had to do was enjoy the stamping. So today I thought I’d share those wonderful cards she designed.

This first card uses the So In Love Bundle and I’ve included a complete supply list below for you since it was my favorite of the group, but it was a tough choice. LOL!

This second card was made using the Lift Me Up stamp set (142893/142896) and the Up & Away Thinlits Dies (142748).

I really love the way she used a bit of our Cooper Foil Sheets (142020).

And finally a really cute Hey Chick (Sale-a-bration 143328/143331) card. After all I can’t get enough of this set! Kathleen teamed it up with the Hardwood Background stamp (133032/133035) and can you guess what the punch is?

Well it’s the Blossom Builder Punch (141469). What a great way to use this punch in an out of the box way!

And finally the cute little 3d treat that holds some Hershey’s Nuggets using the Balloon Adventures stamp set (142823).

I simply wrapped the 1″ x 3″ pieces of the Party Animal Designer Series Paper (142738) around each nugget and added a glue dot to hold them in place. Slipped them into our 2″ x 8″ Cellophane Bags (102210) and decorated them using our Balloon Bouquet Punch (140609) which made this a quick and easy project since the Duet Banner Punch (141483) fit the sentiment perfectly!

Part of the fun of this retreat is sharing ideas and learning about other crafting too. You should have seen the Alcohol Paintings some of the girls did – they were wonderful. I wish I would have gotten a photo of them to share with you. (Sigh… I always forget the camera once we get started. Having too much fun catching up with everyone.)

If the idea of having a great group of stamping friends appeals to you why not join my team? Not only will you get a wonderful discount on your Stampin’ Up! products, but you’ll have a wonderful group to craft with. We have such fun when we are together and sharing!

Winter Weekend Retreat & More

This past weekend I held my Annual Winter Weekend retreat for my team – a fun weekend of fun, fellowship and stamping, of course. Today I thought I’d share some pictures we took during the 3 day event.

This first one is our team name tags for the tables and an extra special little goodie bag.

The bag contained these wonderful Team Aprons.

Here is our team photo from the retreat. I feel so blessed – they are the best team members!

We always have a Shoe box Swap on Saturday and so today I thought I’d share with you some of the wonderful cards everyone designed for the swap.

This first card is Cindy’s – I just love the way that she used the Urban Underground Designer Series Paper. A great  use of this paper since it is so masculine at first glance.

And how about this card Mary made using the Oh So Succulent stamp set (142992) and coordinating Framelits Dies (142757).

And this soft and lovely card that Deborah brought was made using the Avant Garden stamp set (143272) from the Sale-a-bration Catalog. This set is is just one of the FREE items you earn a Sale-a-bration item with a minimum $50 purchase.

Melanie designed this fun Valentine card using the Sealed with Love stamp set (142815) and coordinating Love Notes Framelits Dies (142752).

I love sparkle – So this fun card from Marni using the Balloon Adventures stamp set (14823) and Balloon Pop-up Thinlits Dies (142753) fills the bill and is so classic too with it’s color choice.

And this final card that Anna made is bright and cheerful – It used the really cool Celebrations Duo Embossing Folder (142760).

It’s so quick and easy to create this card with the debossed impression folders – just add some ink and voila!

If you have ever thought about joining Stampin’ Up! now is a great time to do so! You can check out this chart to see all the advantages join has during Sale-a-bration
