Saying goodbye to the old & hello to the new!

This week Stampin’ Up! will be transitioning catalogs – As we say goodbye to the 2014 Holiday Catalog and hello to the 2015 Occasions and Sale-a-bration catalogs I wanted to remind you of a few important dates.

Monday, January 5th – The Catalog transition and other special promotions  are ending on January 5th – so you don’t miss out on any of the goodies.

  • 2014 Holiday Catalog: ends Monday, January 5th at 11:50 p.m. (MT)
  • Year End Closeouts: ends Monday, January 5th at 11:50 p.m. (MT)
  • Weekly Deals: ends Monday, January 5th at 11:50 p.m. (MT)

Tuesday, January 6th is the kick off for two new fun catalogs –

  • 2015 Occasions Catalog: starts Tuesday, January 6th
  • Sale-a-bration Catalog: starts Tuesday, January 6th

If you are a customer of mine who has made a recent purchase you should have already received one from me in your mailbox by now.

You may think you haven’t received the 2015 Occasions Catalog  – It’s a bit confusing since the Occasions Catalog has a special  cover that matches our smaller Sale-a-bration brochure. But the Catalog is larger (8×10) and while the outer cover is yellow, it’s just is a reminder about the Sale-a-bration kick off. Open it and you’ll see the Occasions Catalog’s amazing cover with our beautiful project kit on the front cover. (You can find this Build-a-Bouquet Project kit inside on page 29.)

Inside you’ll see that there are some items from the Holiday Catalog that will be available however most items will no longer be available.

Such as ALL the Designer Series Paper! Along with some items you won’t want to miss out on and are must haves from the 2014 Holiday Catalog. I’ll be sharing  some of my favorite sets that are going away today.

2014 Holiday Catalog image

They are  thank you cards that I made recently –

First the wonderful Seasonally Scattered (135020/135023). I chose to use Garden Green and Calypso Coral for this card along with my Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (133787).

Seasonally Scattered

Don’t you love our Seam Binding? It ties beautifully. Add few Basic Pearls and it’s finished!

These next two are note cards (133766/131527) that I made using the Ornamental Pine stamp set (135104/135107) and the Lots of Thanks set (129687/129690) .

Ornamental Pine and Lots of Thanks (2) Ornamental Pine and Lots of Thanks (1)

And these last two thank you cards use the Letterpress Winter Photopolymer stamp set (135143). This first one is done in Lost Lagoon and Pool Party with a few Rhinestones added.

Letterpress Winter (3)

And this one uses the  soon to be gone Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper (135819).

2015 Occasions Catalog Sneak Peek – Guy Greetings

And speaking of the 2015 Occasions Catalog – Here is a sneak peek of one of the fun stamp sets, Guy Greetings, that is included for the spring!

Guy Greetings

I made this card for a demonstrator meeting swap recently. Not only does it use the Guy Greetings stamp set (138825/138828/137178) found in the new 2015 Occasions Catalog, but it also uses an old favorite that is leaving – the Color Me Autumn Designer Series Paper (135820) along with the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set (130514/130517).

What do you think? I’m loving this little set for all the guys in my life!

Seasonally Scattered

I love techniques that are quick and easy – and the Two Tone Embossing Technique is just that. Check out this great card I made the other day for a friend.

Seasonally Scattered

This card uses the Seasonally Scattered stamp set from the Holiday Catalog  (on page 43) and is great for this technique along with all kinds of other techniques too. I’ve used the Pool Party and Smoky Slate Embossing Powders – although there are all kinds of colors to choose from. I think it that it’s kind of cool the way the Smoky Slate picks up the Blackberry Bliss color too.

I know you can’t see it well in my picture, but I’ve used a quarter sheet of the Blackberry Bliss card stock for the base and then created my Pool Party card on top of that. This way I didn’t have to add a liner in the card.  I love using this little trick – This is a great way to create your card when you want that dark pop of color, but don’t want to add a inside layer.

Want to learn how to do the Two Tone Embossing Technique? Check out my video tutorial by clicking HERE.

Then, why not stop by next tomorrow when I’ll be sharing a quick and easy treat to make for last minute gift giving.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Seasonally Scattered (135020/135023)

Inks: VersaMark Pad (102283)

More Team Fun….

Yesterday I shared with you some of the projects we made and today I’ll be sharing some of the swaps that I’ve received during my Team Meetings.

I love this first card that Cindy made with all the texture – it feels like it just jumps off the card.

Honeycomb Hello

Can you believe the fence was simple to make? Cindy stamped the Hardwood Stamp (133032/133035) onto Crumb Cake card stock and then used the Triangle Punch (133375) to create the pickets. Simple, right?

The sentiments are from the Honeycomb Hello set (134075/134078). The colors in this Designer Series Paper helped making the choice of colors for this card easy! Do you know what Designer Series Paper was used for the banner? If you guessed Color Me Autumn (135820), you’re right!

This next card is from my Team member Tamara and uses the Seasonally Scattered stamp set (135020/135023).

Seasonally Scattered

This card uses a easy sponging technique.

Are techniques something that you would like to learn about? Why not check out this month’s up coming Technique Tuesday class? There is still time to sign up and you’ll learn two fun techniques that are easy to reproduce. Click HERE for my Calendar of Events and more information.

Here is a card made using For All Things (135152/135155). You know this is one of my favorite fall sets – you can’t go wrong with it.

For All Things (5)

I love the way that Terry pulled a couple of threads from the 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon (132140) for her bow. And do you know how she created the corners for the sentiment? It is simply our Project Life Corner Punch (135346) that has been used on two opposite corners. Easy, but adds a great touch.

And this last card that I’ll be sharing with you today is a swing card made using our Circle Card Thinlit Die (133480). This die makes a swing card soooooo easy!

Making Spirits Bright (1)

Teresa used the Making Spirits Bright stamp set (135086/135089) found on page 48 in the Holiday Catalog. It’s a fun set that is easy to miss – but includes fun quirky sentiments along with it’s images. If you haven’t seen it why not check it out?

Making Spirits Bright (2)

The Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper (135819) was used to give this card a fall feel.

So what do you think? Which is your favorite? Why not leave me a comment and let me know.

And if you would you like to see what being part of my team is all about I’d love to talk with you about  joining my team. If you’d like to learn more about my team, The Blue Mountain Stampers click HERE.

Autumn Accents

It’s really beginning to feel like fall here with the latest cold front that has rolled in – now I’m just waiting for the first frost here in the North Georgia Mountains so my allergies will stop being such a pain. I definitely have a love hate relationship with fall, if you know what I mean.

Today’s cards are three more swaps that I’ve received, all of them use colors that make you think of autumn. Isn’t it cool how colors are so connected to memories and feelings of times and events?

Seasonally Scattered Stamp divas swap Sept 2014 (1)

I really like the White Vellum card stock (101856) and the Autumn Accents Die (127812) that was used to create the leaves on this first card. The vellum has been sponged and our scoring tool was used to create the veining. Cool right?

Anna created this second card using just our Lullaby Designer Series Paper (133695) along with the Petite Pairs stamp set (128706/122497).

Autumn Accents Die stamp divas swap Sept 2014 (3)

Can you see all the texture that this card has? Created simply by using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder (127821) and 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon (132140). And of course the choice of Designer Series Paper also add to the feel of the texture.

This last card was from Lorraine and uses the Wondrous Wreath stamp set (135047) and Wonderful Wreath Framelits (135851). I really like the way she turned a simple square shape onto it’s side to give it a whole different look. How about you?

Wondrous Wreath stamp divas swap Sept 2014 (2)

So which is your favorite? Do they make you feel like there is a fall nip in the air? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.
