More Zany Zoo

My daughter just sent me a photo of her at the zoo, in front of a favorite spot in any zoo or wildlife area – the alligators of course. She grew up with the crockodile hunter, Steve Irwin and has always been fascinated with these reptiles. So today I share with you projects made with the cute little stamp set, Zany Zoo (161305). This stamp set is part of a Suite of Products that allows you easy coordination when making your projects.

This first card uses the little crock to create a fun cheerful card.

The block of Designer Series Paper is from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper (161304) which has these great black & white patterns on one side. The bold Black & White Gingham Ribbon (156485) creates a fun border for this whimsical guy.

And this next card uses another of the black & white patterns – however this time it has been modified a bit with our Blending Brushes (153611) and a bit of Bubble Bath Classic Ink (161664/161670).

This card was inspired by the card you’ll see on page 46 of the Annual Catalog. The color pallet has been changed to a fun bold one and uses our Stampin’ Blends to color the little ballerina.

I think these whimsical little images are so much fun and I love the way the Designer Series Paper makes a great addition with all of the different things we love.

Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker Update

Blendabilities image

There have been some quality issues with the Stampin’ Blendabiities Marker line. And due to the nature of the defect that is being caused during manufacturing, Stampin’ Up! has concluded that the problems will only continue to become more widespread. Since the manufacturer is unable to correct the problem in a way that Stampin’ Up! feels would meet quality standards  and also provide a stable, long term solution, they have decided to discontinue the line. This decision was made by Stampin’ Up! after a great deal of deliberation and in order to prevent further disappointment with this product.

Blendabilities Q & A

Q: Will the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad (item #132708) and the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad Refill (item #133456) still be available for purchase?

A: Yes. These items will also be featured in this year’s 2015–2016 annual catalog. (The Tuxedo Black Memento is personally my favorite black ink product and I use it all the time for my projects.)

Q: What are the quality problems with this product line?

A: When the tip is welded to the barrel, the welding process can leave microscopic (invisible) holes in the marker tip. This leads to accelerated evaporation of the alcohol in the ink.

Q: Are all Blendabilities markers defective?

A: No. Most Blendabilities markers work as intended. (I myself have only experienced a few markers drying out.)

Q: What if your Blendabilities Markers are defective?

A: If you ordered markers from me, please email or call me.

On a personal note, I’ve cried a few tears over this announcement myself since I’ve loved having this coloring option too. But as disappointed as I am that the line has been discontinued and Stampin’ Up! will no longer be caring this product, I’m proud to be associated with a company who has high quality standards and is concerned enough to pull a very popular item when it has issues.  And of course we still have a number of different coloring options available that I’m sure you’ll enjoy using for your projects.

The good news is that Stampin’ Up! realizes that we loved this coloring option and so will continue working to bring this product option to us in the future.

3/13/2015 Update: it is my understanding that Stampin’ Up! is currently working to find a new manufacturer for our Blendabilities line.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

If you have purchased Stampin’ Blendabilities you should have already received an email from me if not please let me know.

Sweetbriar Rose

With all the winter weather we’ve been having I thought I would share a card that gives us little breath of spring. I know I’m ready for winter to be over and I can’t say we’ve had a really harsh one over all here in North Georgia.

I’ve used the single stamp, Sweetbriar Rose to create today’s card.

Sweetbriar Rose

And to color it I’ve used our Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker Assortments. The four new colors you’ll find in our Occasions Catalog are wonderful for spring since they are soft colors.  Blendabilities makes coloring images a snap and they give you a wonderful bold pop of color. It’s nice having choices, isn’t it?

On a personal note I thought I would share with you two photos that I took this morning. This first one is when I got up this morning. I really thought it was a rather pretty with the sunrise.

Snow storm Feb 2015 (1)

And this second photo is one of the same view that I took about an hour later. The sun is super cool, and it shows you just how limited our view was due to the snow. Don’t you love nature?

Snow storm Feb 2015 (2)

I’m hoping that you are enjoying the snow from your nice warm home and haven’t had any weather related problems.

We’ve been extremely lucky the past two weeks and Habersham does a great job of cleaning up over all. I was pleasantly surprised when the “snow plow” came through about 7:30 a.m. to clear our road. And while things are delayed it looks like it will be a good day over all. Chewie, our dog has  been out playing and of course must stand on the porch at the edge of the snow and make sure she is heard – LOL!

Oh, and if you haven’t already check out my Snow Day special check your email. (This is a special offer for those of you who receive my Newsletters. So if you’re on my Newsletter list you should have received your email by now.)

Blendabilities & Monday’s Door Busters

Stampin’ Blendabilities are such fun to use and a great new way to color. Our alcohol markers are unique and are soooo easy to use. I find them a lot of fun to color with and very relaxing. And since they are part of the Door Busters tomorrow it’s a great time to get yours!

Here are two cards that I made using the Stampin’ Blendabilities – I love this little nutcracker image from the Santa Stache set.

Santa Stache (1)

I’ve used Old Olive, Smoky Slate, Daffodil Delight and Crumb Cake to color this little guy. I thought the darkest Crumb Cake mustache gave him a fun look.

Santa Stache (2)

And this little fellow is a bit more traditional I thought in Cherry Cobbler, Smoky Slate, and Daffodil Delight.

Marvelous Metallic Pumpkins

I love to learn new techniques. Do you? Today’s project combines two things I love techniques and the Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. Whoo hoo! I find myself using my Blendabilities all the time – they are just so much fun to color with and I’m not really a coloring type of person normally. But I’m finding coloring with my Blendabilities is very relaxing and  I always feel so accomplished when I’m finish coloring an image LOL.

I’ve used the Fall Fest stamp set and coordinating Fun Fall Framelits that are available in a money saving Bundle (137628) for this project. This is such a great set for the fall, it’s not such for Halloween as you can see.

marvelous metallic pumpkins

So wondering what and how I did this? It is sooooo easy and it really gives your project a WOW effect. I’m hoping you can see the wonderful look that this little pumpkin has in my photo.

Want to learn this really quick and easy technique? I’ve made a quick video for you. So without delay – Here is my Marvelous Metallic Pumpkins Video Tutorial.

Love it? All you need is a sold image for this project and you’re set to go – the ideas are endless. I haven’t noticed there is any problem so far with my Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers – The only tip is lighter hand when coloring is better since the StazOn Ink is also alcohol based too much pressure picks up the StazOn. That is why for your regular projects you’ll want to use our Memento Tuxedo Black Pad.

Want to learn more about Stampin’ Blendabilities? I’ve got a Blend with Friends Class coming up in October. Not only will you get to practice with the Blendabilities Markers, but the class includes a bundle of products that will get you started. Sound interesting?

Why not contact me today (706 754-7124 or [email protected]) to learn more about the Blend with Friends Class or you can click HERE to see my full calendar of events. I think you’ll really love using our Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers once you try them and they are such a great deal too!

Blended Blooms & Blendabilities News

Great news! The release of the Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers are just a few days way!   You’ll be able to order you own Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers on

Tuesday, July 1st! Whoo hoo!

So today I thought I would share with you a project that I made using the Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers that will be available on Tuesday to purchase.

My card is made using the Blended Blooms stamp (135906) from page 167 of the NEW 2014-2015 Catalog. It is one of our single stamps that are available and work well for coloring.

Blended Bloom

And, I have to say with our NEW Blendabilities Markers it’s a lot of fun to color.  I have to be honest and say I was a bit skeptical at first about them since I’m not a big colorer (is that a word?), but by my second image I was hooked.  I find coloring with the Blendabilities, well – relaxing. And It is amazing how quiet a room will get with a group of demonstrators using Blendabilities. Ahhh….a Zen moment! LOL

I really wanted to make my flower pop on this card and a black and white combo seemed the way to go, so I chose to use the Back to Black Designer Series Paper.

I started with the Blended Bloom image that I colored using my Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities (131003) and cut the flower out using my Paper Snips. (And it’s ok if your cutting isn’t perfect – when a little of the white showed, I just took my lightest Blendabilities and touched up the edges.)

Next I cut a piece of the Back to Black Designer Series Paper (4″ x 2 3/4″) so that the scallop was right against the top edge of it since I wanted to add the strip of ribbon above it. I layered this onto the bottom of my Whisper White Card stock (4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″).

I stamped my sentiment from the Fabulous Four stamp set in Versa Mark on to my Basic Black card stock (cut 4″ x 2 1/2″) and embossed the sentiment in White embossing powder.  I was looking for a happy birthday greeting but for some reason this font reminded me of the pattern in the scallop on the Designer Series Paper, so I went with it instead.

I attached the sentiment to the front of the card, added a strip of the 1/4″ Rich Razzleberry Cotton Ribbon (LOVE this ribbon!) and then added it to my Rich Razzleberry card base.

And of course I had to try my Blendabilities on the Rhinestones, right? So I used my darkest marker to color them. Soooooo easy!

And for the inside I decided to use another sentiment from this set that I stamped in Rich Razzleberry. I also added a scallop edge along the bottom with a bit of Basic Black peeking out.

Blended Bloom Card inside

I really like the way this card turned out and think my friend will like it too. I can already see, I’m going to love coloring again and having another coloring choice is great!

Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers on the Horizon

Little Buddy Birthday

Little Buddy Birthday was one of those sets that I knew I just had to have for all those little tykes in my life. The images are just too cute and I knew they would be great for coloring with our new alcohol Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers.

Little Buddy Birthday

Here is a card I made for a special little monster in our life. LOL.

Little Buddy Birthday Extended Flip Card (2)

I knew I wanted to use the Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers since it would give me a bright bold image and I added some Rich Razzleberry accents too. This color choice gave me my starting point for the card.

I used the Circle Card Thinlits Die and wanted a little extra space so I created an extended flip card. You can see my how to video HERE.

Next I cut a circle out of Rich Razzleberry to add some more movement using my Circle Collection Framelits. I simply chose two of the circles and layered them together on my Magnetic Platform before running them through the Big Shot.

So what do you think? I’m hoping this movement card brings a smile to our little buddy’s face when he open it.

Little Buddy Birthday Extended Flip Card (1)

Our Stampin’ Blendabilities will be available to order soon, but if you want them now – why not ask me how?

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Little Buddy Birthday (133860/133863)

Inks: Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad (132708), Coastal Cabana (131175) and Rich Razzleberry (126950)
