Nautical Fun & Bonus Deals!!!

It’s summer and as it heats up that means the beach and pool time. And since my summer memories always include Lake Michigan, when I ran across these memo pads I couldn’t resist picking up a few to make little gifts for some friends along with one for myself of course.

Red, white and blue – nautical colors and perfect for these little note pads. I let the note pads dictate which stamp sets I used. And the images went perfectly with the Open Sea  and the Sea Street stamp sets.

And check out this one that I made for my friend Janie who deserves a bit of pampering lately. I hope it will remind her of some fond memories from her trip to New England last year.

Yesterday the whole area was down most of the day before we could get the internet back. And for now I’m working on my blog from my daughters computer which makes things a bit more challenging to post since Kaitlin’s system is so different from mine. 🙂 Everything else of course is normal but the blog is a bit tricky for me. Old dog….new tricks you get the idea. LOL

It’s a Perfect Blend!

Here is a card that I thought was very fitting for me this week and I think it is a Perfect Blend of the two stamp sets it uses, Perfect Blend and The Open Sea. I know you’re thinking that is an odd pairing, right? Well look how they coordinate so well together on this card.

Perfect Blend convention swap

Perfect Blend is one of our NEW stamp sets from the 2013-2014 Catalog (page 37) and is a must have for us coffee lovers. I love the sentiments in this set too, they are just fun. And since I’ve been reaching for my coffee a lot this week for a quick boost of energy this sentiment suits me perfectly.

The Open Sea

Need a great male card? The Open Sea stamp set is wonderful for making masculine cards and here is a great card that my friend Bonnie gave me recently during one of our demonstrator gatherings. I really like the way she used our Stampin’ Distressing Tool (item 127562) from the Spring Catalog to distress the edges of the card stock.

The Open Sea swap Bonnie

Did you notice that this card was created using our Not Quite Navy Ink and Cardstock that are being retired? Although I’m excited about the upcoming Color Refresh, I’m going to really miss Not Quite Navy. It’s always been one of my go to colors for masculine cards. I’m sure I’ll find myself reaching for our In Color Midnight Muse more and more when Not Quite Navy is no longer available soon.

Is getting together and sharing your love of stamping something that you would like to do? Have you ever thought about becoming a Demonstrator? Whether you’d like the discount to support your habit or earn a little extra cash – I’d love to speak with you about joining my Team, the Blue Mountain Stampers. The Open Sea

Father’s Day is tomorrow and The Open Sea stamp set is a great one to use when making masculine cards. I love the nautical look and The Open Sea is one of my favorites. Anything water themed is, even though I love living in Georgia I miss Lake Michigan and being able to go to the lake front anytime I want to. I always found watching the waves roll in with my high school friends’ fun and it is one of the things I miss most about Milwaukee.

I recently had my TEAM meeting and this is one of the cards we made during the event. I love the way Joann used The Open Sea stamp set and all of the texture too.

Did you notice the mirror image under the boat? This is an example of one of the techniques you can learn when you’re a Club member with me.

Texture is another way to bump up the impact of your cards and its sooo easy.

Another trick that makes stamping easy is to place your sentiment onto another piece of card stock instead of directly on the inside of your card. That way if you make a mistake, no problem – you can just do it again. And, of course, the framelits make it really easy and decorative too!

Supplies:

Stamp Set: The Open Sea, Teeny Tiny Wishes, and Blessings from Heaven

Inks: Midnight Muse

Paper: Midnight Muse, Pool Party and Very Vanilla

Accessories: Labels Collection Framelits, Big Shot, Modern Label and Word Window Punches, Vintage Trinkets and Linen Thread
