My Hero

Today I’m going to share with you some of the items my Team members have stamped and brought to swap at our October meeting. One of the things I enjoy most is time with my Team at our monthly Team Meetings. It’s always energizing and fun and it is a great group of ladies.

This first item is a wonderful little Halloween Treat that Deborah made everyone using the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies and Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper.

And it holds 3 nuggets.  Isn’t it cute?

And here is a card that Deborah also made. It uses our Ronald McDonald House stamp set, My Hero. Not only is this a great set since it contains images for year round use, but when you purchase it Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

And a couple of cards that Cindy made. This first one uses the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set (135047) and the small flower from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies (135851).

And how about this friendship card done with a simple technique.

Cindy took her clear block and scribbled color in areas using Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo and Marina Mist. Spritzed it with some Rubbing Alcohol that she put in her Stampin’ Spritzer and then stamped onto Watercolor Paper. Easy peasy!

Wondrous Wreath

Love wreaths? Well then you’ve got to get the Wondrous Wreath Bundle (137624) from the Holiday Catalog – It’s so much fun to work worth.

Wondrous Wreath

And this stamp set is a photopolymer two-step stamp set so lining up the three layers of the wreath are soooo simple! Want to see how I do it? Why not check out my video tutorial HERE.

For this card I started with the Hardwood Background stamp (133032/133035) which is a great stamp to have on hand. (I really tend to use this a lot for masculine and fall cards. Of course, with my guys in the family who love to woodwork this stamp was a no brainer for me – since I use it for my scrapbooking projects too.)

I love the rich colors you find in our 2014-2016 In Colors so I chose Mossy Meadow as the backdrop for this card and  added the Blackberry Bliss berries and bow. I’m seeing this color all over the stores when I’m out – so it’s right on trend.

So what do you think? I’m hoping my family and friends will enjoy receiving this card in the mail next week. And I think the thought is very fitting for today, Veterans Day. For especially on today, I give thanks for all those wonderful service men and women who protect our freedom and our country. I’m sure like myself, you have many family members who have served over the years and have made personal sacrifices to do so. They are a very special group of people our service members!

Autumn Accents

It’s really beginning to feel like fall here with the latest cold front that has rolled in – now I’m just waiting for the first frost here in the North Georgia Mountains so my allergies will stop being such a pain. I definitely have a love hate relationship with fall, if you know what I mean.

Today’s cards are three more swaps that I’ve received, all of them use colors that make you think of autumn. Isn’t it cool how colors are so connected to memories and feelings of times and events?

Seasonally Scattered Stamp divas swap Sept 2014 (1)

I really like the White Vellum card stock (101856) and the Autumn Accents Die (127812) that was used to create the leaves on this first card. The vellum has been sponged and our scoring tool was used to create the veining. Cool right?

Anna created this second card using just our Lullaby Designer Series Paper (133695) along with the Petite Pairs stamp set (128706/122497).

Autumn Accents Die stamp divas swap Sept 2014 (3)

Can you see all the texture that this card has? Created simply by using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder (127821) and 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon (132140). And of course the choice of Designer Series Paper also add to the feel of the texture.

This last card was from Lorraine and uses the Wondrous Wreath stamp set (135047) and Wonderful Wreath Framelits (135851). I really like the way she turned a simple square shape onto it’s side to give it a whole different look. How about you?

So which is your favorite? Do they make you feel like there is a fall nip in the air? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Wondrous Wreath in Blues

I really love the Wondrous Wreath Bundle and have been creating all kinds of projects with it. This time my card is for the holidays and has a soft and cool color pallet.

And don’t you love the Silver 5/8″ Satin Ribbon? It has such a rich look and feel to it. I’ve been wanting to use this ribbon for a while and think this was just the card to show off this rich elegant ribbon.

Wondrous Wreath Mixed Embossing Powder (2)

So what do you think? Can you see the special sparkle on my wreath. I created this sparkle by mixing my Smoky Slate Embossing Powder with the Silver Stampin’ Glittler. It’s a great way to have fun with colored embossing powder and so easy to do!

Wondrous Wreath Bundle Tips

Here is another card that I’ve created using the Wondrous Wreath Bundle (137624). I’ve changed the basic design up a bit and have tried this wreath using the Cherry Cobbler Ink just to see what happens LOL.  I really find I’m loving this photopolymer option. They are so easy to line up since you can see through them.

Wondrous Wreath

I’ve used a slightly quicker version of my card I shared with you HERE simply by using a piece of the wood grain pattern paper from our Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper instead of stamping the background and embossing, but I think I like it just as well. And the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper is great for all kinds of fall projects, as you can see isn’t strictly just for Halloween.

Wonder how I get my wreaths lined up so well? Well, several of you have asked me how I do it and so I thought the easiest way would be to show you. So here is a quick video tutorial for you – I call it my Wondrous Wreath Bundle Tips Video Tutorial.

If you love this bundle you’ll be happy to hear when you place an order with me online using my Hostess Code you’ll get a FREE Tutorial that includes all kinds of great projects using this set! So why not place an order today and get your FREE tutorial along with your favorite stamping supplies!

PAPER PUMPKIN

Wondrous Wreaths

Do you love to decorate your front door for the different seasons and holidays? I know I do. So the Wondrous Wreaths stamp set and Wonderful Wreath framelits are perfect for fall and the holiday season. The color choices are endless for the different holidays and since it comes in a bundle (137624), you have the choice of getting it all and saving too!

Wondrous Wreath fall door

I chose to do this card using a fall theme and since purple is the new “in color” you are seeing when out and about in fall décor’ I added a Blackberry Bliss ribbon.

I also decided to make this card look like my front door so I used the Hardwood Background stamp and stamped it in Mossy Meadow onto my Mossy Meadow card stock. I cut the layer into four pieces after I stamped it to make it look more like my door panels.

I love the hello fall sentiment that you can find in the For All Things stamp set – and a wanted a rich bold look, so I pulled out my Crushed Curry Embossing Powder. I really love the rich look Embossing Powder gives and this new color is great for all your fall projects – Just a tip make sure that your ink is dry from the background stamp before you emboss or you’ll end up having embossing powder on your wood grain too. (And of course your Embossing Buddy will make your embossing so much easier and prevent those little stray particles from adhering.)

So what do you think? Does it feel like fall to you?
