As I mentioned yesterday – I’m going to share my classroom make over with you. As it is so far, anyhow I’m waiting for the next phase.
My son surprised me this summer with the offer to start on some of the things I’ve been wanting to do. Lots of painting later, (which you know is not my favorite thing to do), I’m really happy with things!
As I shared with you back in June – here was the first step. A trip to the for one of several loads of wood. You can click HERE to see more of the beginning steps that I’ve shared with you earlier.
I ended up going what definitely was my natural pull when it comes to color! After all who would love be surrounds by colors and a room inspired by this?
While we live in the mountains I grew up in Milwaukee and around Lake Michigan so I love the water!
Johnathan took my basic ideas of what I wanted and put them into action. He was making some adjustments that he thought I’d like as he worked on things. (I let him do his thing since he custom built everything and designed it himself.) And Larry got into the act by suggesting the oak trim to tie things together in the space.
My classroom was upside down A LOT over the summer as we worked in between events. Everyone was wonderful about classes during the transformation. Here are some photos to give you an idea of what I mean! LOL!!!
While the classroom is not quite finished yet, everyone seems to be enjoying the new space. I know I am. Now I’m just trying to be patient until his work slows down so he can start on the upper part of my storage space. LOL!
The classroom is being set up so that everyone can find what they need to work on a project. The 12×12 file cabinet holds Designer Series Paper that you can thumb through and the smaller drawers hold a rainbow of Card stock. Eventually they’ll have labels. I’ve added a TV of course for my Team Meetings so we can stream and share Stampin’ Up! events and more. And there is wonderful rainbow colored Ribbon Holder so you can select a bit of something if you are working on a project.
The shelves hold stamp sets, sponges and more that can be easily accessed by everyone. Along with displayed items too.
I loved the chalk board idea when I saw it. So I found some old frames that Johnathan spray painted for me. I painted the glass (not something I’d do again since if you press to hard…..well I’ll get around to replacing it eventually. LOL! but not right now since they are displaying all kinds of the Holiday Catalog projects.)
I’ve created a little corner store – so if you are looking for something to work on a project you can browse through all kinds of stamps, paper and accessories! Great for upcoming Retreats!
If you want to see even more pictures I’ll be posting more on my face book page tomorrow. So why not stop by and check them out. As you can see this was a family affair. My husband Larry even helped me paint a bit and it was nice to see the guys working on a project like when Johnathan was just a little one. This time the roles were reversed with Johnathan showing Larry tips and tricks! My how he has so quickly grown up into a man! Sigh…. I’m so lucky and proud of these guys! I couldn’t do what I do with out all their love and support.
I won’t be posting tomorrow since I’ll be getting ready for the Fairview Elementary Fall Festival. If you live locally why not stop by and say hi? I’ll be selling cards, treats and gift items for the holiday season. You can check out the school page for more information – https://www.facebook.com/events/632987676881420/
