True Beauty & Back Stage Fun!

Yesterday I shared the first of two swaps that I created for the Back Stage event last week. I I decided I wanted to do both a masculine and feminine card for the swaps. So today I’ll be sharing the swap I made with the True Beauty stamp set (158976).

This stamp set is perfect for feminine cards with it’s floral images and lovely font. The true watercolor look is built into the stamp so it’s soo easy to use and create a multidimensional look for any project!

This set also has a coordinating set of dies and is part of a suite of products, but for this project I wanted to keep it simple. (A late night the day before you fly out will do that lol)

Here is the card I came up with.

Sweet with a bold pop of color. Perfect for a friend! So why not check out my video tutorial and pdf for the project I have created for you? And did you know when I give you a Classic Ink item # on my pdfs I include the reinker item # for the ink pad? I always tell folks to order them together so you’ll never have a dry ink pad. Nothing more frustrating when creating, right? Something I learned the hard way when I first started stamping. Anyhow here is the the video tutorial.

And how about some pictures too – Back Stage is a special event that Stampin’ Up! holds for it’s leaders once a year. It was held in New Orleans this year some place I’d never been before, so it was exciting to see what this town was all about. We stayed in the French Quarter and after I arrived I had some time grab lunch and to explore with new friends before our Sweets & Swaps event that evening.

What a view!

Check in brought a fun swap bag filled with goodies – Stampin’ Up! always spoils us!

Swapping with 500 of your fellow leaders what could be more fun?

and of course there were sweets and entertainment too!

The next 2 days brought lots of wonderful local food, training, fun and fellowship with new and old friends.

And our final night ended with a Mardi Gras parade and party.

As always our hearts were full as we said goodbye at the end of the evening,

until next time when we gather again. Do these Stampin’ Up! events appeal to you too? Why learn more about becoming a Demonstrator and joining my Team, the Blue Mountain Stampers HERE or contact me today?

You’re Awesome Vintage Tools Card Tutorial

This past weekend I was able to attend the first live Stampin’ Up! Back Stage event that was held in New Orleans after 3 ling years. It was sooo much fun seeing everyone and connecting again after so long. Of course, I wanted to participate in everything, so I started working on my swaps for the first night of the event.

Of course I wanted to share them with you too! So today’s card is the first of 2 that I designed for the swap. Today’s a masculine card that I created using the Vintage Tools stamps set that uses a color pallet right from our Regals and Neutrals collections that are perfect for the guys in our lives.

This stamp set is one of my favorites since my guys do a lot of home improvements and my son has been drawn to wood working since he could walk into Sears. One of our have to stops when out at the Mall back when he was 3! (Now, if you could only see his work shop!)

The image I used for this project also reminds me of my childhood and my father, who had to plain down the doors in our new home so they were able to close and not stick. I can remember watching the little rolls of wood falling as he shaved off the top corner and tested it each time. Odd, how such little things stick in our mind isn’t it? I couldn’t have been older than 4 as I watched him.

Want to see how I created this card? I’ve done a quick video and pdf tutorial for you.

Gingham fun with Cottage Wreaths

Gingham, flannel, and fall. Is there a more cozy combo as the weather cools and the colors change? Well if you like gingham too, you’ll enjoy the Gingham Cottage Suite of products (159663).

This suite is filled with welcoming wreaths and wonderful images that will work not only for fall but winter too! Check out these lovely cards made using the Cottage Wreaths Bundle (159659) along with autumn colors and images.

This first card uses simple stamping to create the wreath using Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie Classic Inks and then adds layers of die cut pieces to add texture. The stitched edge and Elegant Faceted Gems (152464) adds a bit more interest to this project. And this next card uses the die cut wreath.

The bolder gingham pattern sets the color pallet and the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder (149643) adds a bit of texture to the back ground.

So what do you think? Does the Gingham Cottage Suite sound interesting to you? Why not check it out in my Online Store today?

Hello Harvest!

Today’s cards all use the Hello Harvest Bundle (159644) from our Mini Catalog. This bundle is part of the Rustic Harvest Suite Collection (159648) and contains all kinds of wonderful choices for your fall crafting needs.

The sentiments are not just for fall, but are all occasions sentiments that can be used for all kinds of things, which makes it a great value too.

Ready to see those cards? I’ll start with this first one that uses the lovely leaf from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack (159969).

Stampin’ Blends were used to color the flowers and a bit of Natural Woven Ribbon (159611) adds some texture to the project. This next card uses those lovely Amber Gems (159969) along with dry embossing done with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder (158804).

Can you see the embossed detail that is on the stem of the pumpkin? I love the fact that the Rustic Pumpkin Dies (159643) also have dies that cut and emboss as the same time like this. And finally the last card today has a big bold feel with the Stampin’ Blends pumpkin and choice of background pattern.

Don’t you love all these patterns from the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper (159633)?

Soft Seedlings

The evenings are getting cooler and it won’t be long before the days are noticeably shorter, fall is right around the corner. While I’ll miss the pace summer and it’s warm sunny days I always enjoy, today’s project is inspired by those fall colors we’ll be seeing soon.

The Soft Seedlings stamp set (159905) from our Mini Catalog was used to create this lovely card.

This set with it’s lovely font and sentiments is perfect for techniques with its Distinktive images.

For this card a bit of color has been added to the stem with an Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker and then Cajun Craze has been added to the leaves and seeds using a Sponge Dauber. After that another Sponge Dauber added a bit of Early Espresso to the tips for a bit more color giving it an Autumn feel. Our Layering Diorama Dies (155565) were used to layer the image and the Stylish Shapes Dies (159183) with their fun stitched edges were used to pop up the sentiment. Interest was added to the background layer with the seeding images and a bit more sponging to add a bit of interest.

So what do you think? Do the colors used for this card evoke the feel of fall to you?
