Greatest Journey Masking Technique Card Tutorial

Today’s card is one that I made for my daughters friend who loves to run and it uses a fun masking technique that you create with a Blending Brush. This technique can be a lot of fun and the options are endless depending on the colors you choose.

today’s card uses Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo – a color combination that struck me as a good choice for running. (And the fact they had thought of an orange car made me think it would be a hit. lol).

The card uses the Greatest Journey stamp set which is filled with some wonderful sentiments such as this one. Let me show you how I created this fun card in my video tutorial.

Check it out and enjoy.

Welcoming Woods

This time of year the outdoors are calling and hiking, camping and spending the day in our North Georgia Mountains becomes extremely popular as the highways heading north are filled with campers, leaf watchers, and those seeking the peace and quiet of a day with nature. The Welcoming Woods stamp set (156550) evokes those kinds of images in my mind and since this set has all occasions sentients and year round options I think you’ll find this set a great one to team up with sets you might already have.

Check out this first card for fall and it’s striking colors.

A Blending Brush (153611) or Sponge Daubers (133773) were used to add color to this lovely image. A easy technique that packs a wallop! And this next card uses the set as a back drop for the Nature’s Beauty (150528) wildlife.

Embossed in White Embossing Powder (155554) it uses the snowflake pattern from the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper (155718) to set the winter scene.

So what do you think? Love the options this stamp set gives you? Why not stop by my Online Store and check out this and all the items from our Mini Catalog?

Floating & Fluttering Thank You Card Tutorial

Today I’d like to share another tutorial with you. I’m running a bit behind because my internet is having issues. So please bear with me as I work through this problem over the next few days. Today’s card uses the Floating & Fluttering Bundle found in the 2021 January – June Mini.

This bundle of products doesn’t contain sentiments so it was perfect to team up with the FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set Heal Your Heart (Sale-a-bration 152291) that you can earn when you purchase this bundle and spend $50 in product.

Want to see the card now? I chose one of my favorite color combos for it – Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green.

When doing a technique like blending colors you’ll want to choose colors next to each other on the color wheel rather than across from each other for a more pleasing feel. If you use colors across from each other you’ll get a more “muddy” look when you blend them.

If you don’t remember your childhood art class basics, there are primary colors Red, Blue, and Yellow.

When primary colors are mixed with the color next to them you get the secondary colors, orange, violet, green. And of course, if there is more of one of the primary colors in the mix that is more dominate, you’ve got the tertiary colors or 3rd set of colors.

If you’ve been stamping for a while you probably do this intuitively with your color combinations without even realizing it as we all have color palettes we use repeatedly because they make us happy.

On to the tutorial. I’ve created both a video and PDF for you that I wanted to share.
