About Stamp with Jini

My name is Jini Merck and I'm a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator. I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends. For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people in your life. I live in Clarkesville which is in the North Georgia Mountains with my husband and two children. Although my family keeps me busy I enjoy the creativity of stamping and crafts and the fellowship stamping brings into my life. Spending time creativing cards and gifts for friends and family has been one of my favorite hobbies over the years.

convention #7

Here are a couple of cards I created for convention swaps back in 2010 when the set first introduced.

convention #8

I tried two different color combinations basically using the same layout. The first one uses Crumb Cake and Cherry Cobbler, the second Sahara Sand and Cherry Cobbler.

The great thing about this set it is can be used in so many different ways. Many of the elements can be used independently or with other stamp sets.

Leave me a comment and let me know which card color combination you like best.

Embark Graduate Announcements

Friday I promised you I would share a recent project that I made with you using My Digital Studio. As I’ve mentioned before my youngest is graduating from high school this spring. It has really snuck up on me, her senior year has just flown by so quickly. So when the Embark Graduate Ensemble was released earlier I knew this was the way to go! (You can click HERE to see that post).

My sister took these great pictures when we visited her last summer of Kaitlin and they really turned out great. Sooo all I had to do was drop and drag. Easy peezy! Here is the template like it comes when you open it.

graduation announcement-007

And the back of the post card. I  did tweak this area and personalized the text to include a few things that I wanted – but the basic layout is stock.

graduation announcement-008

Well – I couldn’t leave it this way, right so I played around to incorporate school colors with Kaitlin.

I love the way the new upgrades to My Digital Studio allow you to change colors for the different elements! You can customize almost anything now! Whoohoo, right?

graduation announcement-001

We had a blast changing and trying the different layouts and here is what Kaitlin finally liked. Notice the Tangerine Tango Glimmer Paper? It originally came with Champagne Glimmer Paper in the template. We tried Going Gray, Night of Navy and Pumpkin Pie and finally went with the Tangerine Tango option. (Our school colors are orange, blue, silver, and white so there were plenty to choose from.)

graduation announcement-002

Kaitlin was excited about these. Which says a lot about My Digital Studio because she isn’t really my “stamper”, but loves to work with My Digital Studio, it’s defiantly more her style. She loves her tech gear and is always trying to get me up to speed.

We ended up designing three different versions of the graduation announcement. Uploaded them and quickly got them back, without ever leaving the house – the printing looks great and of course with Stampin’ Up! you know it will be great quality.

This was also a great budget option since I didn’t have to buy the graduation announcements and the photos! Which means more left over for the party and I’m using the Embark Graduate Ensemble to create party items too! Love the coordination – makes me smile to see everything match. And with the 25% off on My Digital Studio right now I’m lovin’ it. How about you? You can click HERE to see more about My Digital Studio and the latest downloads too.

Better go, because right now I’m working on those party invites and want to share them with you later in the week. We realized we needed an additional 27 for her friends last night after we stuffed all the family envelopes I’d done already – so I’m busy working to meet tomorrow’s deadline.

Memorable Moments

My daughter turned 18 on Monday and so I wanted to make her a special card using some of my sneak peek products that I just received from the NEW 2013-2014 Catalog.

Here’s what I came up with. I think she really liked it too since she specifically noticed our NEW Washi Tape that I used to make the candles and commented “it was cool”.

Memorable Moments (1)

I wasn’t sure about this product when I first saw it, but I think I’m really going to like it. It’s quick and easy to use and I love the feel of it.

The stamp set I used for the sentiment on this card is the Memorable Moments stamp set (item 126680/126682) currently found in our 2012-2013 Catalog on page 139. The set has such a pretty font and I like the way I can customize it for almost any occasion using the set of numbers that it includes.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Memorable Moments (item 126680/126682)

Inks: Melon Mambo

Paper: Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Whisper White

Accessories: Gingham Garden Washi Designer Tape (sneak peek item 129314), Bird Builder Punch (item 117191), Woodgrain Embossing Folder (item 127821)

Bon Voyage Bordering on Romance

Have you check out the retirement list that was posted Wednesday? Well Bordering on Romance (item 125480/125482) is on that list. What a great stamp set to use for all kinds of occasions.  Here are some of the cards I made using this stamp set.

Bordering on Romance (1)

This first one uses Baja Breeze and the wonderful Twitterpaded Designer Series Paper (item 125406). I’m really going to miss this paper pack.

Bordering on Romance (2)

This second card uses the Loving Thoughts stamp set (item 125843/125845). This is a great sentiment set since it covers a lot  of different occasions.

And this final card using our retiring color Certainly Celery. I’m sad to see it go, but am happy that Pear Pizzazz will be replacing it since that was a favorite of mine in the past when it was one of our in colors.

Saying Goodbye to Just Believe

Just Belive

One of my very favorite stamp sets is Just Believe (item 116948/120453) so I was rather sad to see this on the retirement list.

Just Believe has been one of my favorite sets because it is great to use with so many different techniques. This first card was part of my faux silk technique class last week. I love the combination of Wisteria Wonder and Lucky Limeade together – it gives such a soft feminine feel, don’t you think?

These next cards I made using a watercolor technique. I love the way they turned out. I used a combination of Night of Navy and Old Olive this time.

Just Belive (3)

Just believe (2)

And finally one in silhouette using Cajun Craze and Basic Black

Just Believe

You can see more about the retirement list HERE.  And some of my other posts using Just Believe stamp set HERE and HERE.
