Black & White Convention Swaps

Over the next few days I’ll be sharing some of the Black and White cards that I received from my Convention swaps. Black and White cards are always classic and a great way to start stamping since it doesn’t require a lot of supplies.

This card was made using the Traveler stamp set, one of my favorites! I love the way that Cheryl used the Just Sayin’ stamp set to add the sentiment – how about you? It adds a taste of contemporary to these classic sets.

Timeless Talk

Remember these old phones? The Timeless Talk stamp set contains some great images that remind us of a simpler time.

And the coordinating sentiments included with each image cover most occasions that we need.

This card has a lot of great texture to it. Do you know what the embossed layer is made from? Would you believe it’s the packing paper used in our shipping boxes? Don’t have any laying around? Petite Petals

Today’s card is very elegant and makes an impression, but at the same time so easy to do.

Simply stamp your swirl from the Everything Eleanor stamp set in Garden Green. Then cut out a window with your Apothecary Accent Framelit. (Don’t you love how easy our Framelits and the Magnetic Platform makes cutting windows like this sooo easy since it holds your Framelit tightly in place.)

Lay this on top of your Whisper White card base and stamp your sentiment of choice from the A Dozen Thoughts set, then adhere the layer onto the base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Stamp your flowers, punch them out and add them to the front using some more Stampin’ Dimensionals. Add some Pearls and your done. Lovely, right?

Traveler On Film

Do you love black & white cards? I love the classic elegance of these colors together. Black and white cards are a great for new stampers too since it only requires a few items to create a wonderful project.

I love the Traveler stamp set from the 2014 Annual Catalog. It has such great images that have a vintage feel and so that makes them perfectly to this classic color combo.

I love the water so for this card I chose to use the ship. I started out thinking I would use our StazOn Jet Black Pad for this card, but since my NEW Memento Tuxedo Black Pad was laying on my table I grabbed it instead. I was pleasantly surprise when I stamped my image with it since it has a softer feel and made it perfect for this project. ( I just hadn’t noticed it when I’d been stamping line images for coloring with the Blendabilities.)

So what do you think? This is the second of my swap cards for Convention – I’m hoping they will love this card as much as I do!

Little Buddy Birthday

Today kicks off the 2014 Stampin’ Up! Convention in Salt Lake City and although I’m not able to attend this year since I’ve got family visiting, I still wanted to join in the fun. So todays card is one I made for a convention swap that I am participating in with my fellow demonstrators.

This card uses the fun bold colors of our NEW Blendabilities Markers and the Little Buddy Birthday stamp set. I just love the cute little images in this set. They are fun and whimsical and perfect to color using our Blendabilities.
