Luau Graduation Bucket of Goodies

Yippie, got my camera back last night from my hubbie so now I can share with you this cute little project I made for my daughter’s friends using the Floral Frames Framelits! I had so much fun coming up with the poem for this little Luau Graduation Bucket of Goodies. Here is my group shot of the buckets.

Luau Graduation Bucket

Originally I saw this idea on Pinterest using a 2 liter soda bottle. So when I found these little buckets at my local store I figured maybe they might be able to do something with them afterwards. And even better my daughter wouldn’t float away after having to drink all that soda, (since I needed about 8 bottles and that meant a lot of soda!)

Luau Graduation Bucket Tag and Poem

I originally made this card as one of my Luau graduation party invitation samples. It was cute and Kaitlin really liked it, but she loved the Luau Punch Art card even more. So I thought this would be a great way to attach the poem and keep in the luau theme of the party.

I used the Floral and Ovals Collection Framelits to create the flowers. For the center of the flowers I used the Creped Filter Paper (item 129393) from the Spring Catalog. First I punched the Creped Filter Paper using the 7/8” and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punches (item 129404/127811) then I spritzed them with Pool Party and my Stampin’ Sprizer and attached the layered flower with a brad. For the guys I just used brads for the center.

Here is what the poem on inside of the card said. I typed it up in My Digital Studio, printed it out, and used one of the smaller Oval Collection Framelits to cut it.

Way to Go, You ROCK,

After completing MOUNDS of homework, being a band NERD,

and PIECEing together all of your knowledge.

You’re RED HOT and have finally hit PAYDAY: graduation!

As you STRIDE off to college and into your future,

Remember you’re no DUMDUM, so don’t listen to any SNICKERS,

because you’re one HOT TAMALE and on your way to making a 100 GRAND.

Hope your summer is CRAZY fun and doesn’t go too FAST.

Congratulations on your graduation SMARTIE!

Your future will SPARKLE

HUGS and KISSES!

Isn’t that cute? It was a hit with the guys and gals after all what kid doesn’t like candy, right? I did add some gum and small fireworks along with the candy (Stride, Crazy,  and Sparkle.)

Sweets for the Sweet

As I mentioned earlier this week I’ve been working on items for my daughter’s graduation and thought I would share with you the progression I went through when designing her party invites. We’re using the Luau theme of course, I didn’t realize it before recently, but did you know that May is Luau month? Explains a lot- lol.

I started making invitations using the Sweets for the Sweet Stamp Set (item #128742/122512). Here is the first one I came up with. This one uses Tempting Turquoise, Pacific Point, and Pool Party. I wasn’t completely happy with the proportions so wanted to play a bit more.

Then I got to thinking maybe she’d like school colors being used. Habersham Central has four school colors so there are plenty to choose from. Here is what I came up with next. This one uses Tangerine Tango, Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise card stocks.

That really didn’t get me excited and I had realized I had Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder (woohoo!) so here is what I came up for my last sample. Of course it uses the same color card stock as try #2 but feels much different.

Sweets for the Sweet invite

I really liked the way this one turned out with the Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder.  It makes the umbrella look like a plastic umbrella.

If you’re wondering on how I created the sand I used are soon to be retired Color Spritzing Tool (item 107066) popped in my Soft Suede Stampin’ Marker, spritzed and then torn the edge of the paper. Love the look of this technique, don’t you?

Since I was having so much fun and have wanted to try some punch art I kept going. Stop by tomorrow to see my punch art card and find out which one my daughter choose for her party invites!

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Sweets for the Sweet (item #128742/122512), Oh Hello (item 130730/130733)

Inks: Pacific Point and Versa Mark

Accessories: Cloudy Day Embossing Folder (item 127022), Linen Thread, Color Spritzer Tool (retiring item 107066) and Soft Suede Stampin’ Marker

Luau Catalog Launch

It has been crazy around here lately so I apologize for not posting the past week. Our daughter, Kaitlin, started Band Camp last Monday and since I am the secretary of the Boosters Club there has been a lot to do, so I haven’t been home much. In addition, we are hosting two of the visiting band staff members in our home which has been a lot of fun. Of course, when I am home I have been canning or freezing the items coming out of our son’s gardens. With this long stretch of heat we’ve had lately I’m afraid there won’t be much left before long and no tomatoes I’m afraid this year.

There are so many different things that I have been wanting to share with you that I will try and get caught up over the next couple of weeks, this include the tutorials I’ve finished but haven’t posted yet. So check back frequently.

I held my 3rd annual Luau Catalog Launch the last weekend of July and I think everyone had a great time. There were lots of samples of cards and other projects to see, a silent auction, retired items for sale, along with drawings, door prizes, demonstrations of some new products and 2 fabulous Make n’ Takes! Whew! There was a lot going on – I thought I’d share some pictures with you from my two day event.

Here was the table that held my free gift to everyone who came, a “Catalog Survival Kit”,  along with some of the door prizes and of course the Grand Prize of over $50 in merchandise in one of our fabulous reusable totes!

And of course it wouldn’t be complete without some punch and goodies to snack on. Thank you Helen for sharing your brownie recipe they have been a big hit in my household as well as at the Luau!

Here is a shot of some items that we have made in past Clubs. I have another club starting later this month. If this is something that might interest you, why not check it out by clicking HERE.

Here is a shot of some of the card items that were on display.

Everyone was able to relax and check out our new 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog while enjoying the goodies.

And here some of the past class projects I’ve done, along with some things for  my upcoming events. You can click HERE to see my calendar of events.

Make  N’ Takes were a hit and they used all of our new In Colors  – the colors are just so beautiful.

The first project used our new stamp set Sweets for the Sweet and was a 3-D card made on the Alaskan Cruise Incentive Trip this past spring. I’ll be posting a tutorial for it later this week.

The second was a card using our new stamp set My Friend and our new Lace Ribbon Border Punch. I’ll be posting more information about this card along with step by step directions tomorrow.

Everyone could try out our new Designer Frames Embossing folders on the Big Shot. Along with our Letter Press Plates.

Even my husband couldn’t resist sitting down and making his own card to add to his personal stash.

Missed the fun? Wish you had our new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog? Why not give me a call or drop me an email to find out how to get one of your own! You’re going to love it!
