Dazzling Flower Shop

Today’s card uses the Flower Shop stamp set (item 130939/130942) and it may just dazzle you – lol. One of the great things about the Flower Shop stamp set is that it comes with a coordinating punch, the NEW Pansy Punch (item 130698). And I don’t know about you, but I looove punches! (Shhh..don’t tell my husband, but punches are one of my secret obsessions.) And better yet these two coordinating products make up another of our great bundles that save you 15%– The Flower Shop Bundle (item 132727/132726).

Flower Shop

When creating this card I used our yummy Strawberry Slush pattern from the 2013-2015 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (item 130136) as the layer on the bottom. Polka Dots are so much fun aren’t they? So I was very happy to see them in the Paper Stack again.

Next I used one of my favorite ribbons, the 5/8″ Whisper White Organza Ribbon. I bet you’re asking why it is one of my favorites right. Well it’s because it ties beautifully when making bows and is just a really great basic to have in your card supplies.  You just can’t go wrong with a Whisper White ribbon.

Finally I used my Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets to add the Dazzling Diamonds to the flower to make it sparkle!

This greeting is from the NEW Hostess only stamp set Express Yourself (130336/130339). Isn’t the font lovely? Would you like one of the exclusive Hostess items for yourself? Why not hold a private party with me and have some friends over for an hour of fun – just email me and we’ll pick a date that works best for you!

Mosaic Madness

Today’s card is one that I created using the Mosaic Madness Bundle (item 132734/132733) from page 123 in the 2013-2014 Catalog. In addition to the bundle I used the coordinating Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder (item 129984) for the background to add a little texture and interest.

Mosaic Madness

I love the fact that you can purchase things that you would already purchase together in Bundles and save 15% too. There are lots of new bundles in the 2013-2014 Catalogs, so why not check?

Coordinating products is one of the things that drew me to Stampin’ Up! in the first place. I’m never disappointed since it seems like whether I have something brand new or something that I’ve had in my stash they’ll work together well.

On a personal note, here is a quick up date for you – Kaitlin and I arrived safely in Houston yesterday afternoon after a peaceful flight where we were surrounded by clouds that looked like fluffy cotton balls. (No rain, yippee.) On the plane Kaitlin taught me how to play a game on my mini, Fruit Ninja and how to use Photo booth too. What a hoot – Here is a photo of the two of us. Aaah, a bonding moment for sure.

Photobooth on plane

We spent a nice evening with my sister and her husband at a local Mexican restaurant here in Cypress, El Gallo, and then a quick dip in the pool. It is a bit warmer here in Houston than back in Clarkesville so it was a great way to finish up the evening.

Wetlands

As I head out the door to go the airport I wanted to quickly share a card that I made recently with you using the Wetlands stamp set (item 126695/126697) and our NEW In Colors.

Wetlands InColor

Our NEW 2013-2015 In Colors are so yummy and I thought they were great for this summer time card.  It was quick and simple to make and I like the way that the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack (item 130136) mimics the feel of the waves in this design. Can you see it too?

I’ll be posting while I away. I’ve already got some things I’ve planned to share with you – so stop by again tomorrow. I’ll be monitoring my email while hanging out at the pool with my sister, so feel free to let me know if you need anything or have any questions.

Wildflower Meadow

Wildflower Meadow (item 129165/129168) is a background stamp that I think you’re going to love using. It makes a quick and easy card and lends itself to all kinds of different techniques.

Wildflower Meadow (2)

I don’t think the picture shows it well, but if you could see it in person you would notice that the image has a shimmer to it. How did I get it? Well I used our Illuminate Glimmer Watermark Stampin’ Pad (item 126857) and Clear Embossing Powder (item 109130) when I stamped the image. Then I used our coordinating Wildflower Meadow Embossing Folder (item 129736) and ran it through the Big Shot.

I used my Stampin’ Markers to create the greeting along with the Label Love Stamp Set (item 130619/130622). And after stamping punched it out with our coordinating punch, the Artisan Label. A quick bit of ribbon tied in a bow and voila’.

The great thing about the new 2013-2014 Catalog is that there are more bundles than ever! Did you notice that I said coordinating items? Well I used two different Bundles to create this card that are available at a 15% discount. The Wildflower Meadow Bundle (item 132735/132985) and the Label Love Bundle (item 132723/132722).

Bundles in Catalog

So now when you order items that coordinate, watch for the Bundle & Save box listed by them in the catalog.

Happy Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July. I spent a quiet day here in Clarkesville with the family watching the rain come down. It was a rather wet and soggy day for us. One of those days you just want to curl up with a good book or hang out in your stamping space – lol.

Want a quick and easy card? Try the NEW stamp set Happy Day (item 130294/130297). The images are lovely and the greetings fun and bold. The set coordinates beautifully with the Eastern Elegance Designer Series Paper (item 130131) found on page 154 in the Catalog.

DSC01856

Don’t you love the colors in this Designer Series Paper? It was hard to choose which ones I would use to stamp with but I finally decided on the Coastal Cabana and Smoky Slate, two of our NEW colors that were just introduced in June.

I used one of my sharpies to color the Rhinestone accents on this card. I’d recently come across a 80’s set in my local big box store that I had picked up and found that a lot of them are working well with the Color Refresh Colors. How cool is that?

Are you wondering how I cut the top of this card? I call it my roofline cut – that is since I don’t know what else to call it and it sort of looks like a roof to me.  Making this cut was quick and simple with my Stampin’ Trimmer.  Want to see how I created this shape? I made a quick video to show you.

A Dozen Thoughts

Todays card is one that I received from my friend Cindy. I just love the colors she used to create this card. The Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper is one of my favorites since I love the colors in it – they are bright and cheerful, don’t you think?  And the greetings in the A Dozen Thoughts stamp set are great for a lot of different occasions too. I especially like the one she used on this card from the set.

Bright Blossom Blueberries – Take 2

Okay, okay, I know I’m a bit OCSD (that’s Obsessive Compulsive Stamping Disorder for those of you who’ve never heard of it before – lol). I couldn’t resist making yesterday’s card again making a change. And I have to say I really do like this one better, the greeting pops just like I thought it would. (You can click here to my first version of the card.) What do you think? Leave me a comment and let me know which one you like best.

Yesterday I promised to show you one of my favorite blueberry recipes using those yummy berries. So here it is – this never lasts long in my house I can already hear my daughter coming – Quick hide the Blueberry Pizza!

Blueberry Pizza

And your going to love how its soooo easy to make.

Blueberry Pizza

1 ¼ c. powdered sugar

1 c. flour

½ c. butter, softened

1 tsp. vanilla

1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened

1 (8 oz.) ctn. Cool whip

2 c. fresh blueberries

In a medium bowl, mix together ¼ cup powdered sugar, flour and butter to a soft dough. Spread the dough onto a 12-inch pizza pan and bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden. Let cool. In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, remaining cup of powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix well, then fold in whipped topping. Spread mixture over the cooled crust; top with blueberries. Refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

I know this recipe is called Blueberry Pizza, but it’s just as yummy if you don’t have a pizza pan if you make it in a 9×13 pan. Enjoy!

Bright Blossoms

This morning first thing I went out and picked our 9 blueberry bushes which are now starting to coming in. It’s supposed to rain again today so I didn’t want to miss out on any due to the afternoon storms.

I love blueberry season and seeing the plump ripe berries on the bushes each year makes me happy – they’re so yummy and our bushes here are just starting to bear well now since they are about 4 years old. I’d gotten spoiled at our old house since the bushes were over 10 years old and we’d get gallons each summer. Here is a photo of the bowl I picked.

blueberries

Why am I telling you about this? Well it inspired me to create a card for you today that has a blueberries theme.

Bright Blossoms Blueberries

So what do you think? Does it look like blueberries or a blueberry bush? I’ve used the Bright Blossoms stamp set (item 128424/125497) and stamped off in order to get the different shades of Midnight Muse and Gumball Green. I used my ½” Circle Punch to punch out the holes and wrapped my ribbon around the layer of Whisper White.

I love the sentiment that I used from the Really Good Greetings stamp set – it just seemed, well, perfect for this card. I think however, if I had to do it over again I would stamp the sentiment in Midnight Muse instead of the Gumball Green so that it popped!

Stop back tomorrow and I’ll share with you a favorite recipe for what I made with some of these yummy blueberries.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Bright Blossoms stamp set (item 128424/125497) and Really Good Greetings (item 130330/130333)

Inks: Midnight Muse and Gumball Green

Paper: Midnight Muse, Gumball Green and Whisper White

Accessories: Midnight Muse 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and ½” Circle Punch

Postcard

Real quick, before everyone gets here and we head downstairs (to have a stamping day with friends), I wanted to share this card with you. This card was made with the Postcard Stamp (item 130366/130369) that I received from my friend JoAnn recently, isn’t it great?

Postcard JoAnn swap June 2013 (1)

JoAnn loves anything vintage and loves to distress.   And I have to say our Stampin’ Distress Tool makes the look easy to create and a lot of fun too!

Did you know there were so many different stamp sets in the 2013-2014 Catalog with the word post or postage in the name? I didn’t realize it until I saw JoAnn’s card. Can you find them all?

I wanted to show you the inside of this card – because I think it is particularly special.
