Botanical Blooms & Wine Charm Tutorial

I love these new Botanical Builder Framelit Dies that are part of the Botanical Gardens Suite of products found on pages 26 & 27 of the Occasions Catalog. They are alot of fun to work with and the fact that they “pop out” to give the flowers a more 3d look is cool.

Here is a card that I made with the Botanical Blooms Bundle (140819).

Botanical Blooms (1)

Isn’t it fun that the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (140583) can be stamped on with the Botanical Blooms stamp set (140757)? Add more detail quickly and easily with the Photopolymer stamps to add even more color and texture to your paper like I did on this card. Can you see where I stamped?

And don’t forget to decorate the inside too!

Botanical Blooms (2)

Great news! When you purchase the Botanical Blooms Bundle you’ll get a FREE Sale-a-bration item too!!!

Botanical Bloom Wine Charm Video Tutorial

The other day I shared with you some cute little wine charms I made using the Botanical Blooms Bundle (140819) for my Team’s Winter Retreat. (You can click HERE to see that post.)

Botanical Blooms Wine Charms

The charms were a hit with my team – so today I bring you a quick Video Tutorial for the wine charms.

**Please keep in mind while the Basic Black Archival Ink Pad is a permanent ink, but our Refills are water based. If you want this charm to be water proof you’ll need to spray a  sealer on them or use permanent markers. While they are not water proof we had no problem with the charms when we used them repeatedly.

Love Blossom Domed Treat Box

A New Catalog is a lot of fun – and of course when it’s Sale-a-bration, it’s even more fun! So to start the New Year off with a bang I held my NEW Catalog Sneak Peek Event on the 3rd of January – two days before the catalog launched! That meant that everyone who attended was able to play with some of the new products and see them before it went live! Whoo hoo! A great way to start off the New Year, right?

In today’s post I’m going to share with you some photos of the event. This first one is a picture of the classroom set up – to show you a bit of what greeted everyone who attended.

Occasions Sneak Peek Event 2016 (1)

And this second one shows you what was at everyone’s spot.

Occasions Sneak Peek Event 2016 (2)

Everyone who attended received a couple of special treats from me – and in today’s Video Tutorial I’ll show you how the little chocolate holder was made.

Love Blossom Domed Treat Box Video Tutorial (1)

I call these Love Blossom Domed Treat Box – I’m so original, not  with names – but well I called them this because they’re domed or treasure box shaped!

I used our new 6×6 paper stack, Love Blossoms since they were the perfect size! I didn’t even have to cut the paper!

Want to see a quick video tutorial on how to make them? Well, here you go. (Sorry about the froggy voice, I’m fighting winter allergies and just couldn’t wait any longer to share this with you.)

Domed Treat Box Video Tutorial:

A great project, huh? And it holds quite a bit so you can put almost any item you’d like inside. Of course, I wanted to pamper my guests with some Valentine chocolate, (before Larry found it!) so this was perfect.

Love Blossom Domed Treat Box Video Tutorial (2)

And of course, our Honeycomb Happiness (Sale-a-bration 1412788/141291) is an item that you can earn FREE during Sale-a-bration. I love the images and thought the sentiment was perfect for this project!

I’ve given you a complete supply list for this project below. And I don’t know about you, but I find the Envelope Punch Board a fantastic addition to my stamping supplies and have been finding all kinds of things besides envelopes to make with it! If you haven’t already seen my Getting Started with the Envelope Punch Board Tutorial – why not check it out now?

Folded Frames Tutorial & On Stage

As I’m typing this up I’m  getting ready for my Shoe box swap and the first ever Stampin’ Up! On Stage event. Whoo hoo! There isn’t anything I enjoy more than getting together with other stampers and stamping. And this event is sure to be a ton of fun!

Would you like to see what I’ll be sharing at my Shoe box Swap? This card highlights the Folded Frame technique and while it looks difficult it really isn’t – which is always the type of technique I love!

Oops I’m probably dating myself, oh well my love affair with turtles started with my first pet turtle.)

Want to know how I made this Folded Frame? Well you’re in luck – I’ve done a quick video tutorial on Folded Frames for you so you can make them too!

So what do you think? Why not give it a try and create your own Folded Frame out of your favorite Designer Series Paper?

Stamp-a-ma-jig Storage Tip Tutorial & New Weekly Deals

I’ve just realized I hadn’t already shared this quick and easy tip with you for storing your Stamp-a-ma-jig imaging sheet. It really makes stamping with your wood block stamps quick and easy!

I’ve a wood stamp lover. They are quick – just open the case and go. So using vellum for imaging sheets this is something I’ve been doing forever. But for some reason it dawned on me the other day that my vellum just flopped around in the cases and it bothered me. (No compulsive stamper here, right? LOL).

So today’s post includes and quick video – so why not check it out? The Stamp-a-ma-jig (101049) is a must have tool that I reach for all the time since it allows me to position my images exactly where I want it every time!

Stamp-a-ma-jig Storage Tip Video Tutorial

And for those heavy use sentiment sets such as our Hostess set, Happy Birthday, Everyone (139171/139958) I like to use our Window Sheets (114323). They are really durable and sturdy.

imaging sheet tip for wood mount stamps (2)

Simply stamp on the Window Sheets using StazOn Ink and you’ve got an imaging sheet that can last forever!

imaging sheet tip for wood mount stamps (1)

Wonder why the Window Sheet is blue? Well, it’s simple I simply leave on the protective coating that comes on it. It makes finding the imaging sheet easier on my desk.( If you saw my desk while I’m working you’d understand. LOL!) And when I want to change the imaging sheet I simply peel off the protective coating. How great is that – no cleaning.

Want to learn about Getting Started with the Stamp-a-ma-jig? Why not check out my YouTube video tutorial HERE. It will show you the basics of how to use your Stamp-a-ma-jig and creating your imaging sheet.

Watercolor Wings

This is a quick post today since I’ve got tons to do today. But I wanted to share this card with you before I got started. I just love this new stamp set Watercolor Wings – it’s ALOT of fun to play with and since it is a 3 step stamp set and has a set of coordinating framelits dies. Whoo hoo! Lots of combinations can be made. Versatility and butterflies what’s not to love?

Watercolor Wings

This card is one I’m using for my swap tonight at the Stamp Divas team meeting. I love that we get to share ideas with each other and will look forward to sharing the swap cards that I receive with you next week too!

Scroll down to see the full supply list.

On a personal note – This proud mom wants to share the latest on our marching daughter. We got our first photo from her late last night after her first DCI performance in Seattle with the Cascades. (I can’t tell you how happy we were to get something after 3 weeks of All Days – basically DCI boot camp. LOL)

Premier Seattle Cascades 2015

Look at that huge smile on her face! She is having the experience of a life time. And while I don’t understand entirely why Kaitlin loves to be pushed to her physical limits  and stand for hours on end in the hot sun. I’ve got to admire her passion and drive.

So I wanted to say thank you to all of you, my customers and friends,  for helping make her dreams come true this summer. Every ready to mail card that you’ve purchase has helped get her to Seattle! Now we just have to get her home from Indianapolis in August.

Of course, it’s an on going fundraiser for Kaitlin and I’ve just added more cards to the box – so if you would like to browse next time you’re in my classroom Kaitlin would appreciate it!

I know some of you aren’t familiar with DCI. So if you are wondering what exactly she is doing – here is a taste of what DCI is all about. Not the best video, but it brought tears to this proud mom’s eyes to see them on the field for their first performance! Now I just have to try and figure out which one she is before they make it to the Atlanta Dome in July!!!

They’ve left Duvall, Washington last night and have hit the road to start their tour. They are doing about 19 cities in 30 days before they get to finals. Right now they are on some gym floor  in Oregon sleeping and will perform tonight in the first of their DCI events. Whoo hooo! Isn’t it great to be young and adventurous?
