Butterfly Gala Floating Frame

Today’s project is one that I made for part of my Team gift that I gave everyone attending OnStage in Charlotte this past weekend. It’s a twist on the floating frame cards you’ve been seeing pop up – but this really is a frame lol. I thought it would be great to have a special frame of our stamping friends and a reminder of the wonderful time we had last weekend.

I really like the way the frame turned, out so I thought I’d share a video tutorial with you on how I made them. They are really easy to do. It’s a few days late since the first time I filmed it the file was corrupted so I had to do it again, not sure exactly why, but then that is the way with technology, right?

I’ve used the Stampin’ Blends to color the butterflies and I chose the shades of blue since our Team name is The Blue Mountain Stampers. Get it?

I placed those that I could on their pillows once we arrived in Charlotte.

The bags were stamped using the retiring Bloom by Bloom stamp set (148820) and Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper (148795) was used for the tags.

I also used the Large Letter Framelits (141712) that are also on the retirement list for the tags – boy, do I hate to see these go, I use them all the time! Get yours before the supply is gone.

And here is a close up of the back.

Want to see how I made these Butterfly Gala floating frames?

Here is a video for you and of course a PDF tutorial too. I’ve also included a complete supply list below for you so you can make some too. So keep scrolling since it is at the very bottom!

Last Chance List Update:

Retirement List: Please note that I’ve updated the PDF with items that are carrying over noted. They are both highlighted and * is behind their names. These items are being reconfigure and will only be offered in our new Cling offering in the 2019 Annual Catalog. Please let me know if you have any questions I know that the lists can be a bit confusing. The easiest way to see everything is in my Online Store HERE.

Stop back by tomorrow when I’m hoping to post some of the fun of OnStage with you – today I’m heading to the vet. Our four legged family member, Chewie decided to have a run in with the fence and lost on Friday night while I was gone to OnStage.

Poor thing. She has needed a lot of extra attention since I’ve been home and is not liking the confinement needed so she can heal.

Enjoy!

Rooted in Nature Faux Silk Tutorial

I started this project a while back and got side tracked. Does that ever happen to you? That being said, I’m not admitting to my stack of half finished projects  anything. LOL!

Well the good news is I finally finished it and love the way it turned out so I wanted to share it with you today.

What do you think? Can you see your favorite autumn photo in it? The color is a bit late here in this neck of the state so I haven’t gotten many pictures yet, but hope too still if the rain doesn’t wash things out.

This frame looks like it took along time and is complicated, but really isn’t difficult to do with a few basic supplies. The frame itself is one of those inexpensive $1 frames you can find at your local Walmart or craft store.

Here is a video tutorial for you showing you how I made it. This video is a bit longer than I normally do so I hope you enjoy it.

Succulent Garden Team Gifts

I love to make special little gifts for my team and I thought I’d share the Succulent Garden frame with you today along with a quick video showing you how I made it.

I’ve love the soft colors in the Succulent Garden Designer Series Paper so that is where I started with my project since they seemed to coordinate well with our On Stage logo for this spring. I even personalized the logo with Savannah and the year so that when they take the cardboard piece out to put the photo in they can turn it around and always have the information right there on the back! (After all I have a hard time remember where and when photos were taken after a few years. How about you?)

I also made name tags for our bags.

After all with hundreds of the same bag running around, you want to identify yours quickly right? Especially since it is packed with lots of goodies!!!

Yep, I had all this in my bag to bring home! I love being a demonstrator and attending Stampin’ Up! events!!!

And did you notice? I had a bit of beading fun too! I used blue beads since we are the Blue Mountain Stampers (makes sense, right?) and

I found some special charms to go along with our choice of On Stage location. And check out these cute little On Stage logos using Shrinky Dinks of all things! What fun it was watching them shrink from their original 2″ size down to these tiny charms – brings out the kid in me. LOL! I love spoiling my team and Deborah was pleasantly surprised to find this little Team Gift on her bed in the hotel the first evening.

Okay, you ready to learn how I made the frame? I’ve got two video tutorials for you and a complete supply list if you scroll down to the end.

Watercolor Wings Spring Frame & New Weekly Deals

I love using my stamping products for home decor and gift items since it gives me a chance to create something extra special. So I wanted to share this fun frame that I made to hold that special photo from Easter this month.

Watercolor Wings Butterfly frame

The base is just one of those inexpensive wooden frames that you can find for a dollar. How did I make it? Well first I used our Stampin’ Glue Sticks to adhere a layer of our Cucumber Crush paper from the 2015-2017 In Color Designer Series Paper Stack to the wooden frame. The Stampin’ Glue Sticks are perfect for this type of project since it has square edges that will fit into corners easily.

Next I made some flowers using our Spiral Flower Die. Sooo quick and easy. Run your Bone Folder down the card stock after cutting it out, roll and adhere. Yep that is it! I did sponge the edges a bit to give it a bit more depth and added a touch or two of the Dazzling Details on the edges to make them look dew kissed.

I made two butterflies and adhered them only in the center so I could bend the wings and give the butterfly a 3d look. And I added a bit more of the Dazzling Details on both pieces to add a bit of shimmer.

I think my daughter will enjoy this little item for her Easter basket. How about you? What do you think of this little frame I made?
