Doggone Friendly

Do you love dogs? I know I do. I can’t remember a time that a dog wasn’t apart of our family someone we loved. From my first little pup at age 4 to our two current little babies, dogs hold a special place in my heart. So when I saw the Doggone Friendly Stamp (162729) I knew it would be part of my shopping list.

Today I’m going to share some fun cards from my swap that use this stamp in different ways. I like the fact that this stamp has it all and we can highlight one or all of our sweet faces! This first card does just that.

The card front was stamped in Pebbled Path and then circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies (159183) was used to cut out the image desired. The pup has been colored and highlighted and then layered onto a larger circle of Misty Moonlight. This layered shape covers the hole that was created. And how about this next card that uses a quick pop of color on their bandanas with our Stampin’ Blends to draw your eye?

The sentiment has been stamped in the fun Tahitian Tide and punched out and layered with the Double Oval Punch (154242) and a bit of shine has been added with the Tahitian Tide 1/8″ Metallic Woven Ribbon (159197).

And this last card is a fun fold

It uses not only the stamp set but our More Dazzle Specialty Paper (161749), Natural 1/4″ Wavy Trim (161517), and Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper (161503) to create tons of texture. Open it and you’ve got two additional panels with those adorable little faces.

This stamped image was stamped Pecan Pie once and then cut into three sections at 1 1/2″, 2 1/8″ to decorate the panels. So simple but it packs a wow in shades of brown.

Three cards, three totally different looks! It’s one of my favorite things about paper crafting, while we start with the same supplies we can create a project that is our.

On a personal note I thought I’d share a quick pic of my pups. Kona and Hana who are now 21 weeks old and just got their first grooming.

We named them after two towns we were able to visit on vacation recently. They are such sweet little faces, don’t you think? Why not leave me a comment and tell me what kind of pup you have?

Fun Techniques with Autumn Leaves

You can hear the leaves rustle? We’ve had a breezing cool few days here in North Georgia and the colors have really started to pop against the hill sides and along the roads. It feels like it’s happened overnight, but I know it’s a combination of shorter days and cooler nights that create this wonderful array of colors. So today I thought it felt right to share a couple of autumn inspired cards using the Autumn Leaves Bundle (162186).

This bundle has some great sentiments and images for fall crafting and today’s cards use a couple of simple techniques to create some great autumn cards. This first card uses the fun Baby Wipe Technique that uses our Reinkers.

Grab a couple of baby wipes, a few reinkers of your choice and create your own ink pad to create this look. How’s it done? Fold your baby wipes so they create a a size that will work well with your stamp choice, use your of rinkers and place drops of ink randomly around the surface, repeat until you have a variety of colors filling in the space. Then go ahead and stamp! Yep that is it. Just a tip tho, you’ll want to clean your stamp in between your stamping as you’ll muddy the colors on the baby wipe if you don’t. Have fun with it and enjoy the process, you’ll create an original look each time you stamp!

And this next card uses a fun “spot light” technique with the All About Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (162178).

The leaf shape die has been used to cut out the card front stamped panel and then again from the Designer Series Paper. The Designer Series Paper has been placed in the negative spot using Stampin’ Dimensionals creating a bit of a shadow effect. The Crumb Cake card base peeks through from behind enhancing this effect. The tone on tone stamping is a great backdrop and the bit of Linen Thread (104199) and Adesive Backed Speckled Dots (162191) ties the color scheme together nicely.

So what do you think? Need a birthday card? simply swap out the sentiment with one of your choices these layouts aren’t just for Thanksgiving.
