Botanical Invitations

I always do a celebration for those that qualify for my FREE Event during Sale-a-bration and so today I thought I would share the invitations that I made for everyone along with a PDF tutorial for you.

This card uses a couple of the items on our Retirement list that I’m sad to see go specifically the wonderful Gorgeous Grunge (130514/130517) which is wonderful for collage or creating backgrounds with interest and the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies (140625) since they have these wonderful pop up areas to the flowers that create wonderful 3d effects.

I love the look of this card – and I think it would make a great guy card because of the colors. What do you think?

Bear Hugs for Father

Check out this cute card I received from Leslee using the adorable Bear Hugs stamp set and Framelit Dies found in the Occasions Catalog on page 40.

Cute right? What father wouldn’t love getting this card?

And you can purchase this set and framelits in a money saving bundle (140822/140823) while supplies last or until May 31st when the Occasions Catalog ends. (While you’ll find these items in our 2016 Annual Catalog they won’t be offered in the Bundle any longer.)

And here are some more wonderful masculine cards I received from my fellow demonstrators in swaps.

This first one was given to me by Trudy. She used the stamp set From Land to Sea (138720/139361) and created the sand dunes using the Sprinkles of Life stamp set (139971).

Clever girl – I love it when you can use stamps and punches for other things!

And finally this card uses one of my favorite sets, Guy Greetings (138825/138828/137178).

I love all the texture on this card – It uses the Boho Chic (138286), and two of our retiring Embossing folders, Honeycomb (129378) and Chevron (127749).

Helping Me Grow

Check out these two very different cards made with the Helping Me Grow stamp set (140764). This set contains some beautiful floral images and great sentiments too.

This first card is done in Watermelon Wonder and uses the beautiful Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper (140557). Irene used the Work of Art stamp set (134111/134114) to create the swoosh of color on the flowers – pretty cool, right? The Fluttering Embossing Folder (139304) added some texture to the background. And the Bitty Butterfly Punch (129406 – part of the Weekly Deals) was layered on top of the Mint Macaron Elegant Butterfly piece (127526).

This second card uses an embossed resist technique and is much softer feeling even thought the Tempting Turquoise is part of the Brights Collection.

Janie Embossed the flowers in White Embossing Powder and then sponged Mint Macaron, Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise. The sentiment comes from the Wetlands stamp set (126695/126697) and is placed on a 2″ Circle that is layered on our 2 3/8″ Circle Punch. A quick and easy way to create a focal point. Can you see the tiny pearls she used to dot the i’s? A little touch of elegance.

Wetlands Birthday Greetings

Do you need some great birthday cards for those guys in your life? Then Wetlands may be just the set for you! It’s great for all kinds of occasions since it contains a nice selection of sentiments. And I just love the size and the font used in this set.

This lovely card was one of our shoebox swaps during this past weekend’s Blue Mountain Stampers’ Getaway. It was designed by one of my team mates, Janie. Janie is wonderfully creative and I always enjoy the projects she comes up with.

The card has a wonderful combination of colors and textures so I hope the picture does this card justice.

Scrapbooking with Wetlands

Today I thought I would share with you the scrapbook page I created using the Wetlands Stamp Set (126695/126697) that I submitted for the Convention Challenge.

One of the things I love about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is that Stampin’ Up! is always giving us opportunities to learn and grow on a personal level, in addition to indulging our creative side. I love that Stampin’ Up! gives us the tools to create projects that we can use in our every day lives. And as we say goodbye to our 2013 Catalog and welcome our new 2014 Catalog Stampin’ Up! has offered a challenge to demonstrators with a contest to participate in Convention Displays.

I was inspired by a card that I had made earlier for my image and color pallet. I thought the Wetlands stamp set was just perfect for this project, (you’ll notice the sea oats in the photo below.)

I had a photo that I wanted to make into a home décor item as a gift for my friend. So that’s where I started. (and no, these adorable children aren’t mine LOL.)

Can you tell what I used for my base? Well, I used a piece of Pool Party from a package of the Subtles Core’dinations Card Stock (129954) that I spritzed a Stampin’ Spritzer and Baked Brown Sugar to add that feel of sand and sea spray from the ocean.

Did you know that our Core’dinations Card Stock is part of the Retirement List? I was rather sad to see it there since it is great for all kinds of things and I reach for it quite often. It has a wonderful texture on one side and is smooth on the other. So you can not only use it to sand and tear, but it is also great to use to add texture to your project too! And if you love to scrapbook a 12 x 12 page you’re in luck because it comes in pack of 12 x 12 sheets of assorted colors.

Now I just need to place it into a 12 x 12 frame that I’m making for it before I give it to her. I hope she’ll like it. I just love the way it turned out.

Making a Point

What is your favorite part of stamping? Is it being creative? Making cards for family and friends? Creating gifts to give someone? One of my favorite parts of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator is getting together with others who share my love of stamping and learning from each other.

Once a month we have a meeting where we demos come together. These ladies have become wonderful friends, who’s friendships I cherish. After all where else can you walk into a room, not know anyone, and speak the same language? A stamping event of course! Stamping is the bond that ties us even though we come from all walks of life. How cool is that, right?

The fun of these meetings include swapping ideas – want to see some of the cards I received? Well here are two –

This first one is from Marni and is done in Melon Mambo. She used the fun Making a Point Hostess Set (133056/133059) from the Occasions Catalog as the focal point of this card. If you knew Marni you’d know she just loves shoes, so this is so her! Do you recognize the Washi Tape? Well, it is part of the Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape (129134).

This second card is from Bonnie and it uses one of my favorite stamp sets from the 2013 Catalog, Wetlands (126695/126697). I especially love the font used for the sentiments in this set. A great guy card, right? And don’t you love the bright cheerful colors she used?

I just love the Wetlands stamp set – Especially the sentiments and the font that is used for this set. Here is another card created with the Wetlands stamp set that I wanted to share with you.

This card used our Ivory Naturals card stock (item 101849). Both our Ivory and Whisper White Naturals card stock has got this great earthy feel to it and is a wonderful choice when you are looking for something with just a little more texture. Caring with Cards Event Scheduled

Caring with Cards is a different kind of event. It is an event designed to make a difference in someone else’s life. So why not join in? The more’s the merrier so invite a friend to come with you – everyone’s welcome. You’ll not only have fun stamping and socializing but you’ll also be giving of yourself – along with bringing a smile to someone’s face. Sound interesting?

During this 90 minute self paced event you’ll get to make up to four cards of your choice. All supplies are included except Snail Adhesive. Your donation of $10 covers the supplies, envelopes, and the postage required.

All cards will be donated to the charity of your choice when you finished and you’ll be able to choose between four different charities – The Ronald McDonald House, Operation Write Home, Hospice, and the Red Cross.
