Last month when we met as a team we did some training using our Watercolor Pencils and I challenge everyone to create a project using what they learned. If you’d like to learn more about using our Watercolor Pencils you can click HERE to see the tutorials and worksheets.
Everyone received a piece of the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper as part of the challenge. So today I’m sharing with you a couple of the cards we made.
This first card is one I created. The flowers are water colored using an Aqua Painter. And I used our beautiful Sale-a-bration Glimmer Paper Assortment as the base to my dragonfly. I LOVE this stuff the colors are so rich and beautiful and add a intense pop of color!
On this next card Cindy used the Watercolor Pencils simply as colored pencils for a different look.
A soft subtle look that is definitely Cindy’s Style. She used a layer of vellum that she cut using Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies (138135) and topped that with a layer of Calypso Coral she cut using the Butterfly Thinlits Dies (137360). I like the way that these two sets of dies can be used together or stand on their own. And do you recognize the sentiment? It’s from our Greatest Greetings stamp set (140703/140706) that you can find on page 78 in our Annual Catalog.
Did you know that you can earn this items (while supplies last) now through the end of March? During Sale-a-bration when you place a $50 order you can choose a Sale-a-bration item for FREE! And there are a lot of great choices to choose from.

Well I’m all settled in Jasper at this weekends retreat in a lovely location at Camp Grandview and am enjoying a nice cup of coffee while I post this morning. I’ll share more about that with you next week. But today I wanted to share this wonderful card that I received from Sandy. It seemed fitting since I’m sitting here with 80 wonderful ladies at a DIY retreat who were kind enough to include me.
This card uses the lovely Falling in Love Designer Series Paper – it’s soft colors and bokeh effect are perfect for all kinds of projects and if you haven’t seen it in person you won’t be disappointed.
Sandy embossed the image in gold and added a touch of our trim along with pearls – the simplicity is beautiful I think. How about you?
Well, I’m off to get my second cup of coffee. LOL – enjoy the day!
Accessories: Layering Ovals Framelits Dies (141706), Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim (141672) and Pearl Basic Jewels (119247), Gold Embossing Powder (109129), Embossing Buddy (103083) and Heat Tool (129053)
When I first saw this stamp set in the Occasions Catalog I wasn’t sure about it – but when I saw this swap card yep, I knew I needed to add it to my wish list!
Anita used the color pallet found in the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper. Rich and bold I think this makes a gorgeous card!
And with the Ringling Bros. Circus holding it’s final performances in May this year it is a timely stamp for me. I remember all those field trips as a child going to the circus in Milwaukee and being fascinated by all the colors and sounds. I guess, since Baraboo Wisconsin was home to The Ringling Bros. Circus from 1884 thru 1918 and the museum, Circus World was created from this original home for them in the 50’s there is a definite connection to the circus for my family and those in the area.
On a personal note I’m heading out to a retreat for the weekend in Jasper and I don’t know what the internet will be like there so I may not be posting tomorrow.
