Frosted Medallions

This set’s images are beautiful and are perfect for winter cards. And oddly enough the largest image also reminds me of Scandinavian designs from my childhood. And as a few stamping friends mentioned it reminds them of Pennsylvania Dutch and even Russian images. So there are lots of possibilities when designing cards with this set!

Here is a card I made using a sponging technique. I love the way it turned out – soft and lovely!

I simply inked up my image in the Soft Sky and then touched my Sponge Dauber to areas with the Sweet Sugarplum ink. Pure magic!

Or how about this card I created for my Christmas Card class? I just love the quick and easy torn edge that adds a lot of texture.

And here is a lovely card I received from Dawn using Copper Embossing Powder on White Vellum.

Vintage Leaves Easel Post it Note Holder

I love to make gifts and what could be more practical than a post it note holders – I don’t know about you, but I have a ton of these little pads laying around my work spaces at home. LOL! Who would have back in the 80’s thought these little pads would become so every day! Don’t you wish you had invented them? I digress – so any way without further adieu here it is

I really love the way these turned out – so much so I’m making them for the Bazaar I’m doing this Saturday. So why not stop by this Saturday at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Mission Bazaar in Gainesville and say hi? You can find more information about the event HERE on my Calendar of Events.

Caring with Cards & the Ronald McDonald House

Last Saturday I was able to drop all those cards we’ve stamped together at my Caring with Cards events into the basket at the Atlanta On Stage event. Thanks to all those new and seasoned stampers who joined me in making a difference!

Almost 200 cards were stamped between April and the event. Wow!!! It was great to see the basket over flowing! These cards will be distributed to the Ronald McDonald Houses across the nation so that those families who are staying there can use them during their stay as a need arises.

Would you like to help make a difference? Why not join me at my next Caring with Cards event – it is free and all the cards we stamp together will be donated to the RMH and the Red Cross Holiday for Heroes programs!

My Hero

Today I’m going to share with you some of the items my Team members have stamped and brought to swap at our October meeting. One of the things I enjoy most is time with my Team at our monthly Team Meetings. It’s always energizing and fun and it is a great group of ladies.

This first item is a wonderful little Halloween Treat that Deborah made everyone using the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies and Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper.

And it holds 3 nuggets. Isn’t it cute?

And here is a card that Deborah also made. It uses our Ronald McDonald House stamp set, My Hero. Not only is this a great set since it contains images for year round use, but when you purchase it Stampin’ Up! donates $3 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

And a couple of cards that Cindy made. This first one uses the Wondrous Wreath Stamp Set (135047) and the small flower from the Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies (135851).

And how about this friendship card done with a simple technique.

Cindy took her clear block and scribbled color in areas using Sweet Sugarplum, Flirty Flamingo and Marina Mist. Spritzed it with some Rubbing Alcohol that she put in her Stampin’ Spritzer and then stamped onto Watercolor Paper. Easy peasy!

Beautiful Star of Light

This bundle of stamps and Thinlits Dies is just beautiful and the sentiments the set contains are wonderful.

This first card uses the Moroccan Designer Series Paper which is part of our Buy 3 Get 1 Free promotion that ends October 31st. Annmarie was thinking out of the box when she chose this paper for Christmas and I just love it!

I’ve included the recipe below for you.

This next card is done in traditional Blue and Silver – and who doesn’t love that?

Joanne created a bit of dimension by scoring the star on this card and adding some Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back to pop it up. Simple right? But wow it’s just lovely.

And finally Dawn added some of our Fancy Frost Sequins (142519) to create a wonderful shaker card for this one.

Christmas Pines

Pine boughs… can you smell the fresh cut pine? It’s one of my strongest holiday memories. Going out in the cold Wisconsin afternoon, tramping through the snow and choosing a tree together. (My dad had planted a whole field of them on our property when I was about 4 and it was my job to stomp the dirt down around the saplings trunk.)

When we got home the guys always trimmed the trunk and screwed the tree into the tree stand. I know I’m really dating myself LOL! Some years those lopsided little blue spruce were a bit misshaped, but since we back them up against the wall it was all good. Now a days we use an artificial tree, not as much fun I’m afraid, but more practical with my allergies.

Oh well, this set just reminds me of all those beautiful boughs from childhood. And it’s got some wonderful sentiments too

Here are two wonderful cards that I was given. This first one from Jackie has a bit of sparkle and shine to it since she uses our Red Glimmer Paper (121790) and Candy Cane Lane Baker’s Twine (141983).

Christmas Magic

This last card is wonderful since it uses the Sliding Star Framelits Dies (141820) to create movement

the train looks like it is coming down the tracks!
