Fun Resist Technique & the Detailed Dogwoods

So today I thought I’d share a couple more cards with you using the Detailed Dogwood stamp set (Sale-a-bration 162953) and a quick and easy emboss resist technique.

I can remember the first time I saw this technique and it seemed like magic to me. Our image has been stamped in VersaMark and heat embossed with the White Embossing Powder. Additional stamping has been added to the background and then ink has been brushed on top of that. A paper towel is then used to wipe off the ink on the dogwood image. Voila! the image reappears easily since the embossing powder resists any of the ink. So simple but wow! Can you remember seeing a technique that blew you away the first time you saw it? Simple things like this make stamping so much fun!

And these next card uses our lovely Pebbled Path and Fresh Freesia for the color pallet of the next card.

I don’t know about you but I fell in love with Pebbled Path the first time I saw it. Such a great color that is so versatile. The image has been die cut using our Deckled Rectangle Dies (159173) to add a bit of texture. The lovely Pebbled Path 3/8″ Textured Ribbon (161632) and Adhesive Backed Sparkle Gems (161288) add a bit of shine and elegance to the project.

So pretty and here in North Georgia the dogwoods dot our woodlands and landscapes during the spring. A reminder of renewal.

More Detailed Dogwood

Here is North Georgia spring is always heralded in with our Dogwood trees that dot the landscapes and woods. They never fail to impress either and so I expect that if you love them too you’ll enjoy creating with the Detailed Dogwood (Sale-a-bration 162953).

Once again this stamp set is an image only set so that you can team it up with your favorite sentiment as you create. Here are a couple of cards that use this lovely set. This first card uses the soft Bubble Bath and have teamed it up with Lemon Lime Twist. The Watercolor Painted was used to color the images to create a quick and easy wash of color.

And if you don’t recognize the sentiment it is from our Quiet Reflection (162689) that you can find in our January – April Mini Catalog. For a bolder look this next gift card holder uses the Moody Mauve, Mossy Meadow, and the Forever Love Specialty Designer Series Paper (162573) with it’s lovely foiling.

The background uses the Notes of Nature stamp set (163203) and the dogwoods have some Clear Wink of Stella (141897) to add a bit of shimmer. Sponging and a bit of wash gives the card a softer feel. Open it and you have a spot for a gift card

Sale-a-bration’s Detailed Dogwood

Today I’m going to share projects using one of our Sale-a-bration’s Stamp Sets with you. The Detailed Dogwood stamp set (Sale-a-bration 162953) is one of our Level Two options and it’s got some great images that you can team up with your favorite sentiment set.

This first card uses simple stamping to create a lovely card.

The images have been stamped using Pecan Pie, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, and Misty Moonlight Classic Inks. The little tag has been punched out using the Best Label Punch (158885). A pop of shine has been added to the card using the Rustic Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots (159082).

And for the next card we are going to step it up with a fun fold called the Bookbinding Fold.

This fold is a quick and simple one and it’s done with just one score line at the 1 1/4″ mark on the card front and then it is adhered in place. Voila! a fun fold. The card uses our Fluid 100 5×7 Watercolor Paper (149612) and has been water colored using Bubble Bath, Lemon Lolly, and Mossy Meadow Classic Inks and our Water Painters (151298). And a touch of gold has been added with another FREE Sale-a-bration item, our Most Adored Specialty Designer Series Paper (Sale-a-bration 162976).

This final card uses a quick and simple torn edge technique to create a wonderful card that has tons of texture.

First the panels have been stamped, then the edge has been torn and they have been layered one on top of the other right to left to create the card front. The Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder (162189) has been used for the first Lost Lagoon layer, then Pool Party, and a piece of the Designer Series Paper, Softly Stippled (Sale-a-bration 162975) and finally a stamped layer of Calypso Coral. The sentiment has been popped up and uses the quick and easy Double Oval Punch (154242) which makes sentiments like this quick and easy to do!
