Shadow Stamping Technique Tutorial

Today’s card uses the quick and easy Shadow Stamping Technique and it is monochromatic since it uses the New Country Lace Designer Series Paper (163415) found in the 2024 Annual Catalog along with the lovely Basic Gray & Smoky Slate Pearls (163416).

All that is really required is two colors of ink and Card stock to get you started making it a great technique when you start stamping since you don’t have to have a lot of inks yet.

Check out my quick video tutorial that I whipped up for you along with the PDF containing the complete supply list and measurements.

Sale-a-bration’s Watercolor Melon

While it is a rainy winter day here in Georgia there is a taste of spring in the air so I thought I’d share a fun set that will make us all think of those warm summer days that aren’t far off.

Watercolor Melon Stamp Set (Sale-a-bration 162962) is a photopolymer stamp set that makes the two step a breeze. The images have a fun watercolor look giving you a built in shading that makes the melon look real too.

Check out these cards to see what I mean. this first card uses simple stamping to create a fun card. Done in Sweet Sorbet and Garden Green it uses a fun angle for the sentiment.

And while this set is a sentiment set it makes it great for choosing a stamp set like the Perennial Postage Stamp set (162598) to team it up with. And this next card uses the same sweet Sweet Sorbet 1/4″ Ribbon (162558) for a little pop of texture on the watermelon that has been punched out using the Modern Oval Punch (162234)

which makes popping it up like it is on this card a snap! This next card teams up these fun images with the Basic 3D Embossing Folders (Online Exclusives 1611598) for some texture in the background and the Meandering Meadow Designer Series Paper (Online Exclusives 162735).

A pop of shine has been added with the Iridescent Rhinestones Basic Jewels (158130). You’ll love how these rhinestones pick up the colors around them. And our last card uses a fun gingham check in Blueberry Bushel from the Glorious Gingham 6×6 Designer Series Paper (163170) for a summer time feel.

The watermelon uses a simple technique called shadow stamping. The melon was first stamped in Lemon Lime Twist Classic Ink and then again in Garden Green Classic Ink. The second color is just slightly lower than the first image allowing you to see both colors. And the vines use the stamping off method to create two different shades of the Garden Green. Both area great techniques that allow you to use stretch your stamping skills and supplies!

Circle Sayings Thank You

Today’s Circle Sayings card uses a simple stamping technique called Shadow Stamping.

This technique uses 2 colors of ink. For this card you’ll stamp the first image using Night of navy Classic Ink and then you’ll clean the stamp and stamp again using a lighter color, such as Boho Blue Classic Ink, You will want to offset slightly the image slightly to create the shadow effect.

This card uses the lovely Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper (161467) to set the color choices used for this card and texture has been added in the splatter in the background from the 2 pack Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folder (157980).

So what do you think? Can you see the shadow? Why not give it a try for your self? It’s a simple technique that is very forgiving and great for new stampers.

The Circle Sayings Bundle (161355) is a great bundle with a coordinating punch and great all occasions sentiments that are teamed up with images to create a wide array of cards we need year round.
