A Tisket a Tasket a Highland Heather Basket

Today’s project is my take on a quick and easy basket. AND it’s perfect for spring, especially since it uses our lovely Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper!

I made this basket with a moving handle so it is more like a picnic basket than an Easter basket. Don’t you love the little bit of lace on the handle? I made this with our Decorative Ribbon Border Punch and it was so easy to do with just a small strip of Whisper White card stock.

Want to whip some of these up too? They are a nice size so add a little shredded paper and treat and you’re set to go. You can make a ton of these with just one stack of Gingham Gala Designer Series Paper and it comes in a variety of spring like colors so they are perfect for giving to others!

Here is my a video tutorial and PDF for you –

I hope you’ll enjoy making these cute little baskets too.

On a personal note I thought that I’d finally share the home improvement project that I was working on with you. I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago and then realized last night that I’d taken the pictures but didn’t share them. Sigh. Some days… lol Can you relate?

Any how here is what was keeping me busy – I still have a couple of finishing touch of things I need to do, but it’s all good.

I had a great time watching my son work on and build the cabinets and then watching the kitchen come together after dreaming about it for so long. I’m bias, but I think my son has done a great job. It turned out beautifully and I really like the look of the hickory. Johnathan did a beautiful job of choosing the grains so they look nice. I love doing projects like this together – great family time and memories being created in addition to a functional end result. You’ll get to see it yourself the next time to come to class, since this space is for our use and will make things easier than the old temporary kitchen set up.

Fable Friends

It was almost 70 here in the North Georgia mountains and it was a wonderful breath of spring. Don’t you love that first sunny day, where you can shed your coat and bask in the rays? For me it’s all the shades of green now that I live in North Georgia. I’m surrounded by fields and love all the different shades of green. I’m lucky, yesterday I got to watch the calves frolicking in the new grass next to the house. Ah, spring….

So today’s card is perfect for that spring feeling – Fable Friends can be found in the Occasions Catalog on page 30 and it’s filled with images perfect for spring!

How can you not love these little faces – ducks in particular hold a special place in my heart since as a child my dad bought me 4 baby mallards ducks at the 7 Mile Fair that I raised as pets.

Anyhow…. want to see the card?

I love this guys little sailor top so I knew exactly what I wanted to do with him – Poppy Parade and Blueberry Bushel make this sweet little squirrel pop. I’ve whipped up a tutorial for you so you can make some too. Why not check it out?

Enjoy! And then stop back by tomorrow when I’ll be sharing a fun 3d project with you that is perfect for your spring needs!

A Quick Note about supplies:

The Sale-a-bration products and Occasions Catalogs have been hugely popular and as you know our catalogs do state on the back that products are while supplies last. So if you don’t see something in the Online Store it is sold out, or has been removed until supplies are replenished (like with the Butterfly Duet and Cake Builder Punches that will be in our 2019 Annual Catalog).

Make sure you order the products on your Must Have Shopping List now to prevent disappointment and of course if you have questions please let me know. Keep in mind Stamps are typically available until after the retirement list posts since we produce these.

Here is what Stampin’ Up! told us yesterday:

Due to complications with our die supplier, we’ve run out of the Doily Builder Thinlits Dies (item 148553) in North America and they will not be available in the future

Here is a current list of Dies that are in low supply at this time and will sell out soon If we sell out of these dies, they will no longer be available to order:

  • Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies (item 148529)
  • Rose Trellis Thinlits Dies (item 148549)
  • Detailed Birthday Edgelits Dies (item 148548)

And of course the Sale-a-bration Coordinations Dies have been extremely popular – the Call Me Cupcake and Hop Around Framelits Dies have already sold out.

As always please let me know if you have any questions.

#simplestamping with Paper Pumpkin

Today’s project is one that I created using the February Paper Pumpkin stamp set, Blooming with Kindness. I LOVE these kits it makes stamping so quick and easy since everything is in the kit it’s definitely #onestopstamping and perfect for taking with you or giving as a gift because everything you need is included including adhesive. It’s great for all ages too.

After putting my kit projects together I was itching to get started on this little note card.

I wanted to the cup to look delicate like china so I reached for my Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends since I like teaming this color up with Mint Macaron which I knew I wanted to use for the succulent. Petal Pink is soft and feminine too which was the look I was going for.

So what do you think? I really like the way this note card turned out and knew I could make a bunch more since the Note Cards come in sets of 20 AND the note cards include the envelopes too! A great budget friendly option at just $6.50.

If you haven’t already used them Stampin’ Blends are sooooo easy to work with check out my video to see just how easy they are! And I love building my collection of Blends by choosing my colors to work with the stamp set I’ve already have. I know that I’ll use them right away that way too.

They are so easy to use, weather doing some blending with the two shades or just coloring with the one tone you’ll end up feeling accomplished – and it is so easy. Home to Roost Card Video Tutorial

A funny story I had some help on this card during my last team craft time – it took 3 of us putting our heads together for the perfect rooster colors. LOL I’d was having so much fun making the roosters a bit different. Sue’s suggestion of the Subtle Embossing Folder background added just the right touch. She’s right it is a great folder. I love to craft with friends and share ideas, how about you?

Here is a PDF tutorial so you can have a printed version to go along with the video in case you’d like to make some of thee cards which will be mailed out today kicking off my March Thank You cards.

#imbringingbirthdaysback with Painted Seasons

I love sending birthday cards to family and friends and today’s card is my March birthday card that I’ve created using the NEW Sale-a-bration option, Painted Seasons. While this stamp set is bundled with a fantastic Designer Series Paper I wanted to create something with just the stamps for this project and here is what I came up with.

Bright and cheerful – it uses a favorite color of mine Berry Burst that has been teamed up with Granny Apple Green. And I used Basic Gray instead of black for the sentiment to give this card a “softer” feel.

This card uses our Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies a must have if you love the stitch look that so on trend and it makes creating this card so easy. I’ve whipped up a quick video for you, so why not check it out?

And of course I love a printable PDF so I’ve got that for you too with all the measurements and supplies.

Share What You Love Perpetual Calendar Card Book & More

Today’s project is one that we did as last Weekend’s Peak Princess event. What is that you ask? This event is a special one for those on my team who qualify for it. It’s an afternoon of pampering – filled with games, prizes, and a special project and best of all time together.

Want to see some photos? This first one is of the class room, ready to go – the little skinny notepads that I shared with you yesterday are at everyone’s seats.

And of course there has to be some goodies, right?

One of the dishes I served was a delicious Black Bean Salsa that Sara Douglas shared with us on her face book page, sorry I can’t find it again to link it for you. She gave approximate measurements since she doesn’t measure the chopped ingredients – so I’m giving you what I did below. You can tweak it to fit your tastes.

Black Bean Salsa

Sara Douglass, Stampin’ Up! CEO

2 cans of black beans, drained and rinsed

2 cans of corn, drained and rinsed

1 bunch green onion, chopped

½ purple onion, chopped

1-2 cups red, orange, yellow and green peppers, chopped

Cilantro, leaves pulled and chopped

2 tsp olive oil

2 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar

2 tsp. Lime juice

¼ tsp. Garlic powder, salt and pepper (to taste)

Mix and serve. This makes a big bowl, the picture below is just half of what it made. So if you want the recipe can be cut in half.

Serve with corn chips – I used blue ones.

We played bingo – my daughter was home on break so she called Bingo for us (She thought it would be great practice for her upcoming band fundraiser too. Yes, believe it or not she is a Band Director. This is her second year of teaching now!)

Here are just a couple of the prize winners – we played 5 games

And of course we crafted together

And this February’s project was such a hit I thought I’d share it with you today in case you’d like to make some too. It’s a book that holds your cards – it includes a perpetual calendar for you too. It’s a great item that I’ve been using myself for years!

I really love the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper and it’s beautiful pearl finish that some of the sheets have so I started there. I think the fact that this Designer Series Paper is a bit heavier will help it hold up for years to come.

Here is the video I did for you.

Share What You Love Perpetual Calendar Card Book Video Tutorial

I’ve also created a pdf for you with the step by step directions and supply list.

Share What You Love Perpetual Calendar Card Book PDF

And here is the link for the Calendar pages for you. I simply printed them off onto Whisper White card stock.

Perpetual Calendar Pages PDF

I think these are going to make great gifts, so I’ll be getting a few more packages of this DSP so I can start my holiday gifts now and earn FREE Sale-a-bration items too! This pack of Designer Series Paper has 24 sheets in it so you can make several per pack of DSP and then use the extra sheets to create cards to go with the book!

Love the project but don’t have a binding machine? That’s not a problem – check with your local Office Supply Store. They normally can bind things for you or allow you to use their machine when you purchase the combs from them.

Enjoy!

And if you think this might be something you may enjoy – why not consider joining my team? It’s a great time to join with the fantastic kit option and right now you have the ability to get the NEW coordinating products for Sale-a-bration (March promotion) in your starter kit too! Vibrant Vases

Today’s card is bright and cheerful – perfect as we just had some beautiful weather here in North Georgia and the early daffodils are starting to peak their heads out of the ground. However, today we’re back a normal winter day.

Today’s card is my February Thank You card that I created to send out to all of my stamping friends who place an order with me.

The two step stamp set, Vibrant Vases is easy to use and because of the bold images you won’t have a problem lining things up when stamping. It’s also perfect for the Stamparatus if you prefer to go that way.

And did you know that this stamp set coordinates with the Vase Builder Punch (147040) found in the Annual Catalog? That makes it a great way to make this punch even more versatile.

I’ve put together a quick video tutorial for you along with a PDF.
