About Stamp with Jini

My name is Jini Merck and I'm a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator. I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends. For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people in your life. I live in Clarkesville which is in the North Georgia Mountains with my husband and two children. Although my family keeps me busy I enjoy the creativity of stamping and crafts and the fellowship stamping brings into my life. Spending time creativing cards and gifts for friends and family has been one of my favorite hobbies over the years.

Stay Warm

This cold weather has me thinking about sweaters and turning on the heat. How about you? So with that thought in mind I thought I’d share the fun little set, Stay Warm Stamp set (165969)

one of our image only sets from the Mini Catalog. Everyone can relate to these warm fuzzy images. I know I do when I was a child my grandmother always made sure I was bundled up before I went out in the snow to play.

So with those warm memories in mind I’m sharing a couple of cards made using this set. This first card uses the images stamped tone on tone.

Texture has been added in the background with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder (164049). And even more texture has been added by using the Perennial Postage Dies (162607) that have been used to cut out the sentiment and Traditions of Christmas Specialty Designer Series Paper (165853).

The sentiment is from the Snowflake Kisses stamp set (Online Exclusive 166018) and the fun bit of shine are our Traditional Sparkling Sequins (165875). If you haven’t seen these sequins they are flat, come in 4 colors and 3 sizes making them great to use on all kinds of projects.

This last card today teams up the stamp set with the Christmas Tags & More 6×6 Mix & Match Specialty Designer Series Paper (165907).

The sweater has been stamped in Soft Sea and Garden Green with the two-step stamps.

So what do you think? Feeling a bit warmer now?

Happy Place

Do you have a happy place? I know mine is the beach and listening to the waves roll in. Or maybe you need a retirement card? The Happy Place stamp set (165966) might be just what you need for card making and even scrapbooking with it’s bold senitments.

The topical feel is built into the word happy for you. Check out today’s card using the set. This first one if bright and cheerful and uses the Celebratory Sips Designer Series Paper (165586)

which sets the color pallet. The sentiment has been stamped using Strawberry Slush and a bit of Darling Duckling and Strawberry Slush 3/8″ Faux Linen Ribbon add some texture along the Rhinestone Jewel. You can feel the fun!

And this next card uses a more muted color pallet and allows the Happy to shine.

Color has been added to the stamp using Sponge Daubers (133773) along with Blueberry Bushel, Calypso Coral, Gorgeous Grape, and Secret Sea Classic Inks. Sponge Daubers are great to add color exactly where you want it since they give you more control making this technique quick and simple. Just make sure to start with the lightest color first and end with the darkest color last so you don’t contaminate your ink pad.

A bit of Linen Thread (104199) tied into a knot gives it a nautical tough, while the leaves on the card front from the Silly Safari Stamp set (165254) adds to the tropical image of the sentiment.

Monochromatic or filled with color – the choice is yours when you’re stamping! Part of what I love about stamping is the fact the same images can feel so different based on the choices you make when crafting. How about you? What do you love about paper crafting?

Today’s card both use the Mixed Florals Bundle (Last Chance 164642) but have totally different feels to them.

The bundle is an image only bundle and the dies have additional shapes you can use on your project like this first card does.

It teams up both the image that has been colored using Stampin’ Blends with die cut pieces to add depth. Texture has been addition in the background. The sentiment that has been punched out using the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch (162888) is from the Wonderful Thoughts stamp set (161899).

And this next card is a fun shape card using the Everyday Arches Dies (Online Exclusive 164629)

and opens from the side.

Since this was a image only set the sentiments from the Everyday Arches Dies (Online Exclusive 164623) are perfect for it! Don’t you think?

Coneflower Celebration

Do you ever need a card for one of those special occasions you’ve might have missed? I know there are times I do, the week just gets away from me and I don’t get my card mailed out on time. So the Coneflower Celebrations Bundle (162251)

is a great choice to create with – and the fun set of coordinating dies have a special movement piece to them. Notice how the large image of the coneflower opens? Create a tag, note card, or an piece that opens on your project. Like I said fun.

Well today’s card uses the the sorry I missed your special day sentiment and highlights these beautiful flowers that have been done in Pretty Peacock and Lost Lagoon.

While the Textured Notes Dies (Online Exclusive 165555) have a lot of texture that have been used to cut out the sentiment more has been added to the background with the Dotted Circle 3d Embossing Folder (163789).

What do you think? I really like the color combination used for this card, it’s not one I would have thought of, but I love the shades of blue. How about you?

Tractor & Co

It’s that time of year that we start thinking about the holidays and here at my home that is surrounded by pastures, tractors are a daily sight.

It also has a fun set of dies and comes in a money saving bundle making it a hit for sure.

So today’s card is one for the holidays – that tractor filled with holiday trees. Just one of the options you can choose from.

Done in warm colors with a touch of glimmer this card is striking. The Mossy Meadow & Gold 1/4″ Ribbon (Online Exclusive 166158) adds a nice pop of color against the crumb Cake back drop. The Traditional Sparkling Sequins (165875) make adding a pop of shine so easy and add additional holiday shine!

More Amber Autumn

Today’s card shows off both sides of it’s Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper (165882) with a simple fold.

The images from the Amber Autumn Stamp Set (165883) have been colored using Stampin’ Blends for a bold look and instead of using the traditional Memento Tuxedo Black the image has been stamped in Early Espresso Classic Ink.

This Joy Fold Card has a bit of a twist. Instead of using the card stock as the left side of the card as is traditional it uses the layer of Designer Series Paper instead. Open the card and it shows off both lovely patterns.

Simply take your traditional card base and adhere the 6″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Designer Series Paper that has been scored at 4″ onto the card front. Then add your focal point panel (a piece of Old Olive card stock that measure 6 1/2″ x 3 1/2″; scored at 3 1/4″) to the card front as desired. Open the card base and you still have a large area for your message too. Cool right?

Did you know that you can use our Classic Inks when coloring with our Blends? Since they are water based you can use any of the Classic Pads to customize your look, why not give it a try for your next project?

If you enjoyed this little twist on the Joy Fold card why not try it for a card you’re making? I love swapping with my fellow demonstrators and learning new little things like this so I can share them with you!

Don’t forget to stop by tomorrow when I’ll be sharing a fun tutorial with you that is perfect for fall!

Amber Autumn Fun Fold

Do you love the fall? The changing colors and cooling nights, along with taking the kids to pick out a pumpkin to carve and hay rides. I know we enjoyed those things when the kids were young. We specially loved to camp in the autumn and sit around the fire enjoying the fellowship of friends and family. So today’s card makes me think of those times and the fun we had together.

Today’s card is a simple fun fold created with just a few score lines that shows off the beautiful Autumn Toile Designer Series Paper (165882).

The card uses some of the Autumn Toile Suite (165904) products along with a one of our new punches, Sign Design Punch (Online Exclusive 166056) to create a space to show off this lovely sentiment. The small side panels that help it stand have been embossed for a bit of texture using our Fern 3D Embossing Folder (158804).

This fun fold is simple to create take a 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of card stock and score it at 2″, 3 1/8″, 5 3/8″, and 6 1/2″. Then decorate as desired. A signature panel can be added to the back in the 2 1/4″ section behind the focal point. Why not give it a try?
