On Stage, Easter Swaps & More

Want to see a bit more about my On Stage experience? We’ll I’ve got a few more photos to share again today and then LOTS of cards too!

If you have been stamping with me awhile you know about my Caring with Cards program that I do at the Clarkesville Library each month on the 3rd Tuesday between 2 and 3 pm. It’s free, you simply stop by and create some cards to donate for the Ronald McDonald House and Holiday for Heroes. Well as you can see we are making a difference!

Deborah and I carried in 720 cards for the Ronald McDonald House on Saturday!!!! How great is that? Stampin’ Up! always offers what we call a Ronald McDonald House stamp set each year – And if you would like to make a difference too you can still purchase the My Hero stamp set (141954/141957). It’s on the Retirement List so it won’t be available too much longer. Stampin Up will donate $3 to the Ronald McDonald House and you’ll receive a wonderful stamp set at the same time. So why not check it out?

Stampin’ Up! gave us a wonderful bag filled with goodies. Notice the color? Well that is our NEW 2017 In Color, Tranquil Tide you see. (I’ll tell you more about the tag and some of the Team gifts I made next week so be sure to stop back by then).

There was a wonderful planner in every bag along with special pens so we can take lots of notes if we desire. LOL! And the tables are always decorated so pretty – check out the NEW 2017 In Color Card stock!  Tranquil Tide, Lemon Lime Twist, Powder Pink, Berry Burst and Fresh Fig. Woohoo!!!

Deborah and I had such a nice time  stamping with our friends.

Make n Takes – because you’ve got to stamp right?

Here is our table

How about some swaps now? These cards all have an Easter theme. I especially love this cute little punch art bunny that Robbie did.

And this one using the Basket Bunch stamp set (143186).

Here is another one using the Basket Bunch Bundle (144731) after all who doesn’t love a chocolate bunny?

And finally here are some swaps using the Easter Message stamp set (142984/142987). I really love the images in this set and Tina was sweet enough to  and included the measurements so we can make lots of them easily! LOL.

If you want to make some of these yourself here are the measurements.

Nailed It On Stage Swaps & More!

This past Saturday was Stampin’ Up!’s On Stage event – and can you say WOW! I was blown away by the swaps and NEW 2017-2018 Annual Catalog and think you will be too! Deborah and I hit the road for Savannah early Friday morning.

I’ll be sharing more about On Stage and the new goodies in future posts, but today I wanted to share with you a couple of the swap cards I made and some swaps I received.

This first card I made using the Swan Lake stamp set (142974/142977) and our In Color Dapper Denim. I used the Gold Wink of Stella (141898) to color the beak and add a little shimmer to the water. This stack of 2016 In Color Designer Series Paper #141408 is on the retirement list so get yours before its gone HERE).

Here are some more cards made with our Designer Series Paper Stacks which are all on the retirement list.

this first swap from Cindy uses the Baby Bear stamp set (141859) and the Neutrals Stack of Designer Series Paper (138435).

And this next one if is done in our Dapper Denim again. Barbara used the Custom Tee Bundle (144724) from our Occasions Catalog that is retiring.

And Karen created this classic color combo card using the retiring items Botanical Builders Framelits Dies (140625) and Tin of Cards stamp set (138946) and the Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack (138435). I’m really going to miss this set since I love the font and the size of the sentiments.

Dragonfly Dreams done in Peekaboo Peach! Love the way Michelle used the Basic Rhinestones (119246) for the eyes.

And finally my Nailed it swap – It was based on my son’s birthday card that I made earlier. You can see that card HERE.

You’ll find the complete supply list below. I can’t tell you how sad I am that this bundle won’t be available after the Occasions Catalog ends. Of course the stamp sets on the retirement list are guaranteed until May 22nd, but our accessories and bundles are only while supplies last. See the complete Retirement List HERE.

Here is another card made with the Nailed It Bundle and Urban Underground Designer Series Paper (142783) that I received in a swap. I just love this suite of products found in the Occasions Catalog on page 47 – the colors are wonderful for masculine cards.

Nailed It

Today’s card is one I designed for my son’s 25th birthday this past Saturday.

He has always loved tools! And that is no exaggeration –  By 3 he could tell you the names of all the heavy equipment on the side of the roads and the tools at Sears – he loved looking around the tool department with his dad when they picked up things to work around the house.  “I’m going out to work in the yard with Norm” he’d say as he headed out to play or build that gazebo after watching Norm on New Yankee Workshop. (I could tell you how to build that gazebo after watching it till the VHS tape was worn out. LOL!) When he got a bit older he was thrilled when he actually got to meet Norm Abram and get a autograph at a Atlanta Woodworking Show! Sigh…. the years have passed quickly.

(You can see how he has used those skills in my posts over the years. Most recently with my Classroom remodel HERE.)

So you can see why when I saw this set in the Occasions Catalog I just knew I had to have it! And since it comes in a money saving bundle (144734/144735) I saved 10% too! And don’t you love the Urban Underground Embellishments (142786) that are perfect for this set?

I loved the way it turned out so much that this card was also part of my March Card Class. Good news I’ve created a different card using the Nailed It bundle that I will use for my April Card Class since this one was such a hit with everyone. So why not sign up for April’s Card Class HERE and join us?

Stamp Set: Nailed It (14074/143077) and Better Together (141733/141736)

Beautiful You Birthdays

#imbringingbirthdaysback this month with Beautiful You.

I have really been enjoying this set and so I wanted to use it to create this month’s birthday cards that I was sending out. (They will be a couple of days late going out, but I’m hoping that those who receive these cards will think it was worth the wait. LOL!)

I’ve used one of our 2015 In Colors, Delightful Dijon to create this card and teamed it up with Basic Gray for a rich and bold look.

Did you know that this color will be retiring soon? Yep, it’s that time of you – our retirement list will be announced on April 10th!!! Yikes – already! AND our 2015 In Color Collection will be on it!

So you’ll want to be sure to complete your collection of supplies before April 10th, since the In Colors are typically the first things to go and they go quickly! Don’t get caught without your favorite colors, reinkers and accessories. Order yours before April 10th so you’re not disappointed.

#imbringingbirthdaysback with 200 cards!

Want to be one of those who receive a hand stamped birthday card from me? It’s simple just send an email to me at [email protected] and give me the following information.

Name

Address

Date of birth

(I just need the month and day since we’re all 29. LOL! But you can include the year if you want to. US only)

Oh, and if you’ve already celebrated your birthday this year, no worries I’ll be sending a full 12 months of cards out! So that’s it – email me your birthday and then just sit back and wait for your card to arrive in the mail!

DIY Retreat, Balloon Adventure Slider Card & More!!!

Do you ever think that you’ve done something and then realized you totally didn’t do it? Well that is what happened with today’s post – I thought I’d already shared my DIY  experience with you, but instead the photos got lost on my computer. LOL!

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to be a vendor at the Georgia DIY Retreat held by the Salvation Army in Jasper, Georgia at Camp Grandview with 80 lovely ladies. It was a wonderful weekend of fellowship and crafting, of all types! What could be better right?

When I arrived I set up my vendor space with all kinds of Stampin’ Up! goodies to choose from. (I wasn’t sure what to expect for the DIY weekend since this was my first vendor event, but next time I’ll be more prepared.)

And of course I set up my crafting space too as we all started to arrive!

I worked on some past kits and retired items that I had – I plan to use the cards as part of my Christmas gifts this year for family and friends.

What a wonderful space we had in the chapel to craft in.

For meals we walked to the dining hall which was decorated so cute. Each table had a bee themed decoration.

It’s was such a treat not to have to cook for the weekend! And at each meal we were given a bible verse made by the different Salvation Army Divisions from all over the state of Georgia. Each was uniquely decorated and while they were all so different they were all beautifully done.

I got to learn more about the Salvation Army and their work in the community. If you’d like to learn more about the Salvation Army too check out their link HERE. During one of the meals Karen shared the story about WWII Donuts girls that I’d never heard before. (It really peaked my interested so I need to do a bit of googling.)

And  of course, there was LOT’S of crafting going on – over the weekend. Sewing machines and computers were humming, knitting, scrap booking, and even furniture was being painted and upholstered. I think every type of crafting project was represented. It was a lot of fun to see what everyone was doing.

I took a couple of wonderful skills classes – what a treat. I’m a life long crafter and love to learn new things! I couldn’t resist signing up for Rebecca’s class – the project was so cute and perfect for Easter and spring.

And these little bunnies were so easy to make! (We used Vaseline to create the crackle effect on the paint, but I’m not sure how well that is going to hold up with time and storage. Hmm….) They are hanging out to welcome everyone in my classroom bath.

They make me smile every time I see them.

I also taught a skills class – A Spinner Card class and got to paper craft with some lovely ladies whom I enjoyed getting to know.

Want to see the cards we made?

Two great movement cards! Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun making the cards – And the Shooting Star stamp (141616/141619) set fit in perfectly with the theme of the retreat Bee Still and Wait for the Glue to Dry!!! LOL!

So today I thought I’d share a FREE PDF Tutorial for the two cards so you can make them too.

Paper Pumpkin Craft Time & Bunny Buddies

Tuesday was our monthly Paper Pumpkin Craft Time for open crafting – if you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin with me this time is for you – It’s my way of saying thank you for choosing me as your demonstrator.) So we spent the morning crafting together and sharing alternative ideas for the March kit.

If you haven’t seen the March kit it is super cute!

The kit always have a quick video in case you don’t want to read the instructions. LOL!

And I love the fact that Stampin’ Up! shares alternate projects for the kit if you don’t like the instructions included.

I’ve even seen the muslin bags whip stitched across the bottom to create a sachet filled with potpourri! Cool right?

So today I thought I’d share with you my alternate project that I made with the kit. I love to give little 3d gifts but don’t tend to use 3×3 note cards as often so I simply took one of our 2″ x 8″ Cello Bags (141703) and put some pencils I had picked up as basket stuffers for the kits and voila!

Cute? I’ve taken some quick shots to show you how I did the ears. I simply punched out a face using the punch 1 1/2″ Circle Punch (138299) and Whisper White Card stock and stamped the face I wanted. There are all kinds of cute combinations you can make with this kit. Then stamped the ears I wanted to use.

I fussy cut the ears and then stamped the floppy ear onto one of the stickers and cut it out before adding it to the ear.

A couple of the glue dots to attach the ears onto the face and added it to my note card that I turned so the opening went over the cello bag. The staple is covered by the bunny. I love the baker’s twine in the kit, so I tied a little bow to put on this little bunny with another glue dot.

The kits always come with lots of stuff that can be used for additional projects! AND these kits are great for all ages!!! Since they contain everything you need except scissors they are great gifts or even kits to take on the road so you can craft. It’s a surprise each month so there are all kinds of different kits.

If this sounds like something you or someone you know would enjoy why not subscribe today? During the next 36 hours (or until March 31st at 11:50 pm MT) you can not only purchase a prepaid subscription to get started, but you can earn a free Sale-a-bration item too!!!

And even more great news. We’re celebrating our 4th Birthday of Paper Pumpkin with a surprise!

We love surprises—and we have a big one in store for you next month! Our April kit was inspired and designed by Stampin’ Up! CEO, Sara Douglass. Get ready to embrace your inner artist and skip to the fun with her. You don’t want to miss this kit—promise! Make sure you’re a subscriber on April 10. Watch this video from Sara to learn more.

And of course as always you can purchase past kits and refills when you subscribe too! Got questions? I’ll be happy to answer them for you, just call or email me.
