My name is Jini Merck and I'm a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator. I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends. For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people in your life. I live in Clarkesville which is in the North Georgia Mountains with my husband and two children. Although my family keeps me busy I enjoy the creativity of stamping and crafts and the fellowship stamping brings into my life. Spending time creativing cards and gifts for friends and family has been one of my favorite hobbies over the years.

Hello, Sailor & Another Great Year

Here are a couple of fun cards that use the Hello, Sailor stamp set (133275/133278), High Tide Designer Series Paper (132992), and the Pacific Point 1 1/4″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon from the Occasions Catalog.

This card holds a little surprise with the way it opens for the inside sentiment which I thought was rather clever since the Pacific Point (111350) background it a bit dark for writing on compared to the Pool Party Card Stock (122924).

This second card while it used all the same basic elements as the first card does, it also includes a layer of Smoky Slate and the World Map Background stamp (130342/130345).

Don’t you love the feel of these two cards? I do – of course for me any sets to do with water are always a hit since I miss Lake Michigan and now live in the land locked Georgia mountains. LOL.

Another Great Year

Here is a wonderfully easy set to work with that will no longer be available after June 1st when the Occasions Catalog ends and is one I’m going to miss. Another Great Year (133038/133041) has this wonderful image that is so easy to use and creates a great focal point for any card along with several other images and a sentiment.

This particular card uses paper piecing to create this colorful Coastal Cabana (131297)banner. Polka dots made with some scraps of Tangerine Tango, Baked Brown Sugar, and So Saffron card stock and of course, the Gold Sequin Trim (132983). Just pull a few sequins off the string and you’re in business! Now you can a little shine to any project quickly and easily!

Peachy Keen & On Film Framelits

Did you know that the Occasions Catalog is ending on Sunday, June 1st? Well it does, and so today I thought share with you some projects that I made using the bundle (135224/135225) of products along with some of the other items you’ll find in the Occasions Catalog.

This first project is a 3d box that I made and filled with some chocolates for a friend as a thank you. The little gable box holds quite a bit of chocolate too which is always a plus when it comes to chocolate LOL.

To create the focal point on this box I first stamped my heart image from the Peachy Keen stamp set (133110/133113) in Real Red (126949) and then used my VersaMark Pad (102283) and the Pool Party Embossing Powder (129398). The polka dot pattern came from the Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack (132996).

This next card is one of my Shoebox Swaps

I really love the little bow we made using the 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon (132140). All I did was cut one end to expose the thread and pulled a couple off to use for this project. Cool, huh?

And this last card was also made with the On Film Framelits (132969) along with the Happy Watercolor stamp set (133188/133191). I stamped my image onto Very Vanilla Card Stock (101650) and placed my photo frame cut from Pear Pizzazz card stock (131201) on top. Added a bit of our Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape (133000), a Very Vintage Designer Button (129327) and a piece of Gold Bakers Twine (132975) that I placed through the button and tied a knot in.

I really love the little pop of color that our Brights Candy Dots (130931) added the Banner Punch (133519) pieces too.

So Very Happy

Here is a card using the new So Very Happy Stamp Set (134231/134234) from the NEW 2014 Annual Catalog that will be available to order June 2nd. I’ve teamed it up with the new Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack (133701). This stack if full of fun bold patterns to choose from. I cut my squares 1 3/8″ and then used the Project Life Corner (135346) to round two of the corners. Stamped my image using the new Memento Tuxedo Black Pad (132708)and colored my flowers using the new Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers (130998). You’ll need the new Memento pad when working with our new alcohol markers and I can’t begin to tell you how much fun the new Blendabilities are to play with! Geometrical & New Weekly Deals

Do you enjoy stamping with others? I know I do and I always love going to my friend Kathleen’s monthly meeting and learning new things while spending time with my demonstrator friends.

Today’s project is one that uses the Geometrical stamp set (133158/133161) and Triangle Punch (133375) from the Occasions Catalog.

Back to the card, this fun card was one of the projects I made during our monthly meeting as a Make ‘n Take. We simply stamped our triangles in the color we wanted, curled the ends with a Bone Folder and attached to a circle to hold them in place before adding it to our card front. The stem is just a scrap and of course this fun greeting is one you’ll find in the Really Good Greetings stamp set (130330/130333).

Betsy’s Blossoms Pop Up Post It Note Holder

Yesterday I held my annual Retirement Party and I gave everyone a little gift who attended, a little Pop Up Post It Note Holder that I made using the Betsy’s Blossoms Stamp Set. They were such a hit I thought that today I would share with you how I made them.

They are so easy to make and I really love the way the top pops up and is displayed when you set them on your desk. And can you see the little sentiment? It’s from the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set (128577/120501) which is retiring. This set gives you so many choices to choose from to create just the right phrase that you’re looking for.

Love You To the Moon

Today’s card is one I made to send a friend that is having a rough time lately and I wanted to let her know that she always is a ray of sunshine in my life not matter how rough things get.

I used our retiring Designer Series Paper, Gingham Garden (129310) to determine which colors I went with – that is one of the great things about Designer Series Paper, it helps you choose colors easily!

And this paper coordinates with our Scallops Embossing Folder (132971) from the Occasions Catalog. Don’t you love the way Stampin’ Up! products work together whether they are new or retiring?

Another Thank You & New Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Set

Have you tried our Photopolymer stamps? Well if you haven’t yet, you should give them a try they are so easy to work with. They are really sticky, so just place them on your block and go. And Stampin’ Up! has stepped up our Photopolymer line by including them in the NEW 2014 Catalog. There are a lot of new sets too, yipppie!

And now not only can you find Another Thank You (136835) in the 2014 Catalog (available June 2nd), but they come in our Clear Mount Stamp Cases just like our other sets and have a wonderful new scent too – Chocolate! Gone is that chemical smell of Photopolymers. No airing out your sets – Yippie!

I showed you a gift that I gave for graduation the other day for one of the twins and today’s project is the gift set I made with Another Thank You for the other twin.

These note cards are also done in the NEW 2014-2016 In Colors that will be available on June 2nd. Along with a little note pad, pen, and clip using the yummy NEW Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stacks (133701).

Although the gifts used a different stamp set I did end up packaging them the same way.

Would you believe this plastic bag is from some Playtex bras that my Aunt bought while she was visiting! LOL. Shhhh……Don’t tell the boys! Recycle and Reuse – think out of the box and you’ll be amazed what you can come up with. These little plastic bags were perfect for this set of note cards and stationary items.
