Another Thank You

I love the rich bold images found in the Farmers Market Designer Series Paper and wanted to use it recently for some thank you cards I wanted to make so I teamed it up with our Another Thank You (136835) photopolymer stamp set.

Here is what I came up with.

Another Thank You

So what do you think? Quick and easy, right? And since I used our Black Embossing Powder when stamping this image it has a wonderfully rich feel to it. Perfect for what I was going for.

You’ll want to make sure your VersaMark Pad is nice and juicy so you’ll get great coverage. And don’t forget it is always best to use your Embossing Buddy (103083) when embossing bold images like it – it will keep your image clean and crisp!

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Another Thank You (136835)

Inks: Versa Mark Pad (102283)

Paper: Farmers Market Designer Series Paper (138448), Sahara Sand (121043) and Basic Black card stock (121045)

Accessories: Black Embossing Powder (109133), Heat Tool (129053), Embossing Buddy (103083)

Swaps & more

One of the things that I enjoy about being a demonstrator is stamping with other and sharing ideas. So today I thought I’d share with you some of the swaps that I received during May’s meetings. After all isn’t it fun to see what others are doing with the same stamp set you may have?

Check out this first card from my friend Anna using the Zoo Babies stamp set (130453/130456).

Zoo Babies Swap

And how about this one that Terry gave me using the Butterfly Basics (138813/138816/137154) and Sassy Salutations stamp sets (132070/126707).

Butterfly Basics Swap

And who doesn’t need thank you cards? Here is one from Kathy using the Another Thank You Photopolymer stamp set (136835). This set has such a great selection of image sizes to choose from.

Another Thank You swap

And don’t you love these colors together? Crushed Curry and Blackberry Bliss along with the Guy Greetings Stamp set (138825/138828/137178). I’m sure you know I love this set – since it has such great images and wonderful sentiments!

Guy Greetings Swap

And while these two cards use some items that are no longer available they were such great cards I thought I’d share them with you anyhow.

This first one uses the Flower Shop stamp set (130939/130942) and is simply elegant done in a shades of brown.

Flower Shop Swap

And do you see the NEW embossing folder, Boho Chic (138286). What a great texture it adds to this card, right?

Moon Lake Swap

Another Thank You & Sweet Taffy

Do you ever fall in love with a pack of Designer Series Paper and then wonder what to do with those patterns that are left over when your done? While I loved the fun colorful pack of Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper when I saw it, sometimes I have a harder time creating cards with larger patterns or a contemporary feel to them, how about you? Which ones stump you?

Well, I think I’ve found the answer – at least I think I found one to my problem anyhow. LOL Check out these colorful cards I made this afternoon, the bright colors just lifted my spirit after so many days of rain here in North Georgia.

Another Thank You and Sweet Taffy DSP (3)

I love the way they turned out, they just make me smile.  So what do you think? Pumpkin Pie or Tempting Turquoise? Why not leave me a comment and let me know.

Another Thank You and Sweet Taffy DSP (2) Another Thank You and Sweet Taffy DSP (1)

Another Thank You is just one of the sets among others that you’ll find that contain bold sentiments like this. And these larger sentiments  are just perfect for a card front. Quick and easy – All I did was swipe my Embossing Buddy, stamp and emboss and voila! A bright cheerful thank you for someone special!

Just a helpful hint: make sure you use your Embossing Buddy first along with a juicy VersaMark pad – it’s the key to success when heat embossing.  Now – I think I’m off to find some more bold patterns to try!

Petal Potpourri, Ice Storm & more

This past weekend I was able to share some time with a lovely group of ladies at the Tanglewood Lodge in Helen. Here is my spot all set up Friday and ready to go. Yes, I pack heavy. LOL I’m sure you know how that goes.

Tanglewood Retreat my space

And here are my friend and I at the Big Shot & Punch table working on our projects. Fun, laughter and fellowship – what could be  better? I really enjoyed my time with these ladies – there are always all kinds of different crafting projects going on and it’s fun to see everyone’s projects

Tanglewood Retreat Kathleen and I

Today’s card is one I created at the retreat and it uses the Petal Potpourri stamp set from the Occasions Catalog along with the Another Thank You Photopolymer stamp set.

Petal Potpourri and Another Thank You

Can you see the fun heart shape on the sentiment? This is one of our Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers colored with the Wisteria Wonder Stampin’ Blendabilities – what fun these are to add a little extra interest and shine to an area you want to highlight. (I’ve listed all the supplies below for you)

Of course since the retreat was held on Valentine’s weekend I did a little something for my guys before I left the house using the January Paper Pumpkin Kit stamp set.

January Paper Pumpkin 2015 alternate Valentine Treats (2) January Paper Pumpkin 2015 alternate Valentine Treats (1)

I also thought you’d enjoy seeing what my son did for his girlfriend – she loves bacon!

Bacon Flowers

We cooked these together the night before I left for the retreat but he put them together for their date. They really look like roses I thought – clever idea. When I posted the video I saw on face book onto his timeline I was just joking – but he loved the idea and it turns out so did his girlfriend!

Unfortunately we did have to cut our weekend short and so we headed out Sunday night since the weather reports for the incoming storm were kind of spotty. Better safe than sorry, right?

When I got home Sunday night I found this cute little critter trying to help me unpack.

Raven the goat

Turns out Raven is a pet and had gotten out of her pasture – She just wanted to play and found in a friend in our dog Chewie. You’ll be happy to know Raven was picked up before the worst of the storm came in and is happy back with her family now.

As you can see we’ve had some excitement here in North Georgia over the last few days – thankfully it wasn’t nearly as bad as they predicted although the ice has taken down a lot of trees and power in the Atlanta area.

It seems we faired a bit better in Clarkesville – unfortunately this afternoon I won’t be at the Clarkesville Library for my Caring with Cards event. The library is closed due to the weather, but I will be there on March 17th so why not plan to stop by then?

On a personal note – I thought I’d share some photos with you of the yard. Ice storms are always more fun when your safe inside.  Hopefully you and your family are safe and warm too.

This first picture was from last night as everyone was getting home. There were already some bad spots of ice forming and part of the road was shut down because of it. Most of what we got yesterday was sleet- you could really hear it pinging on the surfaces.

February 2015 Ice storm

And here is what it looks like this morning – thankfully the sun is out and it is warming up so things are starting to melt.

February 2015 Ice Storm (2)

Well I’d better go since both my guys are home. Stop on by again when I’ll be sharing more of the projects that I made during my weekend at Tanglewood.

Another Thank You & New Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Set

Have you tried our Photopolymer stamps? Well if you haven’t yet, you should give them a try they are so easy to work with. They are really sticky, so just place them on your block and go. And Stampin’ Up! has stepped up our Photopolymer line by including them in the NEW 2014 Catalog. There are a lot of new sets too, yipppie!

And now not only can you find Another Thank You (136835) in the 2014 Catalog (available June 2nd), but they come in our Clear Mount Stamp Cases just like our other sets and have a wonderful new scent too – Chocolate! Gone is that chemical smell of Photopolymers. No airing out your sets – Yippie!

I showed you a gift that I gave for  graduation the other day for one of the twins and today’s project is the gift set I made with Another Thank You for the other twin.

Another Thank You note card set In Color (3)

These note cards are also done in the NEW 2014-2016 In Colors that will be available on June 2nd. Along with a little note pad, pen, and clip using the yummy NEW Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stacks (133701).

Moonlight note pad and pen (4)

Although the gifts used a different stamp set I did end up packaging them the same way.

Would you believe this plastic bag is from some Playtex bras that my Aunt bought while she was visiting! LOL. Shhhh……Don’t tell the boys! Recycle and Reuse – think out of the box and you’ll be amazed what you can come up with. These little plastic bags were perfect for this set of note cards and stationary items.

Happy Veterans Day

Today’s card is a clean and simple card that I created for Veterans Day. After all I can’t say enough how much I appreciate the sacrifices that our men and women in the armed forces and their families make for each and everyone of us. I have, as I’m sure many of you do, family and friends who have served over the years and even sacrificed their lives to protect our freedoms. So once again Thank You for serving your country.

Another Thank You

I thought this bold sentiment from the Photopolymer stamp set, Another Thank You seemed like a good choice for todays card. I used our In Color, Midnight Muse, for the sentiment and then trimmed our note card down 1/4″ and adhered it to a Midnight Muse base for a pop of color.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Another Thank You (133454)

Inks: Midnight Muse (126860)

Paper: Midnight Muse (126843)

Accessories: Note Cards & Envelopes (131527)
