Avant Garden

There are just 8 short days left before Sale-a-bration ends! So you’ll want to check out these lovely cards made with the Avant Garden stamp set (Sale-a-bration 143272)

This first card I made for my February thank yous. (Everyone who places an order with me gets a thank you card in the mail.)

I’m including a PDF HERE with measurements for this card for you so you can create them too!

And here is a lovely tone on tone card that Lorrie gave me. I love the way she used the Delicate Details set (Sale-a-bration 143314) to add interest and a little bit of bling with the Blushing Bride Sequin Trim (138400).

It’s quite striking in person, but so easy too since it is a monochromatic card! Great for the beginning stamper and experienced one too.

#imbringingbirthdaysback

Monday was my birthday and so I wanted to share with you some of the wonderful cards I received from my stamping friends – they are all such wonderful cards! Isn’t the #imbringingbirthdaysback movement great?

This first card was sent to me by Leah and uses the Moroccan Designer Series Paper along with the Avant Garden stamp set from Sale-a-bration.

This next card is from Shirley and she used the Botanical Blooms stamp set and coordinating Botanical Builder Thinlits Dies. She choose my favorite colors for this card – wonder is she knew?

And here is a lovely card from Hope that uses our Endless Wishes Stamp set

And a sweet card from Cindy using our Cool Treat stamp set – love the cherries!

And finally this technique card from Sue – striking!

It was a wonderful birthday – a beautiful spring day and I didn’t have to cook! since I got to try a new restaurant I’ve been wanting to try forever, Fenders Diner in Cornelia, with my honey. What could be a better way to celebrate?

On a personal note I want to thank you for being patient with me while I deal with technical problems. Seems like technology is not on my side lately and working against me lately. Things might still be a bit speratic while I fix the rest of the bugs. So thank you for your patience.

Inside the Lines Watercolor Challenge

Last month when we met as a team we did some training using our Watercolor Pencils and I challenge everyone to create a project using what they learned. If you’d like to learn more about using our Watercolor Pencils you can click HERE to see the tutorials and worksheets.

Everyone received a piece of the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper as part of the challenge. So today I’m sharing with you a couple of the cards we made.

This first card is one I created. The flowers are water colored using an Aqua Painter. And I used our beautiful Sale-a-bration Glimmer Paper Assortment as the base to my dragonfly. I LOVE this stuff the colors are so rich and beautiful and add a intense pop of color!

On this next card Cindy used the Watercolor Pencils simply as colored pencils for a different look.

A soft subtle look that is definitely Cindy’s Style. She used a layer of vellum that she cut using Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies (138135) and topped that with a layer of Calypso Coral she cut using the Butterfly Thinlits Dies (137360). I like the way that these two sets of dies can be used together or stand on their own. And do you recognize the sentiment? It’s from our Greatest Greetings stamp set (140703/140706) that you can find on page 78 in our Annual Catalog.

Did you know that you can earn this items (while supplies last) now through the end of March? During Sale-a-bration when you place a $50 order you can choose a Sale-a-bration item for FREE! And there are a lot of great choices to choose from.

Easter Message

Well I’m all settled in Jasper at this weekends retreat in a lovely location at Camp Grandview and am enjoying a nice cup of coffee while I post this morning. I’ll share more about that with you next week. But today I wanted to share this wonderful card that I received from Sandy. It seemed fitting since I’m sitting here with 80 wonderful ladies at a DIY retreat who were kind enough to include me.

This card uses the lovely Falling in Love Designer Series Paper – it’s soft colors and bokeh effect are perfect for all kinds of projects and if you haven’t seen it in person you won’t be disappointed.

Sandy embossed the image in gold and added a touch of our trim along with pearls – the simplicity is beautiful I think. How about you?

Well, I’m off to get my second cup of coffee. LOL – enjoy the day!

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Easter Message (142984/142987)

Inks: VersaMark (102283)

Paper: Falling in Love Designer Series Paper (142788), Blushing Bride (131199) and Very Vanilla Card stock (101650)

Accessories: Layering Ovals Framelits Dies (141706), Very Vanilla 1/2″ Lace Trim (141672) and Pearl Basic Jewels (119247), Gold Embossing Powder (109129), Embossing Buddy (103083) and Heat Tool (129053)

Lucky Elephant

When I first saw this stamp set in the Occasions Catalog I wasn’t sure about it – but when I saw this swap card yep, I knew I needed to add it to my wish list!

Anita used the color pallet found in the Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper. Rich and bold I think this makes a gorgeous card!

And with the Ringling Bros. Circus holding it’s final performances in May this year it is a timely stamp for me. I remember all those field trips as a child going to the circus in Milwaukee and being fascinated by all the colors and sounds. I guess, since Baraboo Wisconsin was home to The Ringling Bros. Circus from 1884 thru 1918 and the museum, Circus World was created from this original home for them in the 50’s there is a definite connection to the circus for my family and those in the area.

On a personal note I’m heading out to a retreat for the weekend in Jasper and I don’t know what the internet will be like there so I may not be posting tomorrow.

Supplies:

Stamp Set: Lucky Elephant (142936/142939)

Inks: Basic Black Archival Ink (140931)

Paper: Urban Underground Specialty Designer Series Paper (142783), Delightful Dijon (138338), Basic Black (121045) and Very Vanilla Card stock (101650)

Accessories: Project Life Labels Framelits Dies (135707) and Hexagon Dynamic Embossing Folder (143231)

So In Love

Over Presidents Day weekend I attended my annual retreat with my friend in Helen at the Tanglewood Lodge. I’ve really grown to treasure this time with them – it’s a wonderful break from the every day routine. I feel very lucky that the Peacocks have included me. They’re a wonderful group of ladies who came together during their children’s Camp Fire years and have continued to gather and travel together on a regular basis. Doesn’t that sound like a fantastic? While they all are very different they enjoy their time together and this event includes multi-generation which is so wonderful to see.

The lodge is a wonderful building that has a great space for us to both craft and sit and relax and with the 2 kitchens there is always a wonderful smell wafting through the air. (Especially when some of the teenagers make everyone some simply yummy cookies on Sunday night!)

And this year the weather was simply gorgeous so I was able to enjoy some of the outdoor areas – eating lunch and enjoying the unusually warm weather for February. Last year we had to end early due to ice storm warnings! What a difference a year makes!

And we had a little visitor who needed some special care. This 3 day old created quite a stir. What fun it was listening to the group try to find a name for this little guy Friday night as we settled in.

My friend Kathleen pampered me a bit with some projects she brought with her all cut and ready to go – all I had to do was enjoy the stamping. So today I thought I’d share those wonderful cards she designed.

This first card uses the So In Love Bundle and I’ve included a complete supply list below for you since it was my favorite of the group, but it was a tough choice. LOL!

This second card was made using the Lift Me Up stamp set (142893/142896) and the Up & Away Thinlits Dies (142748).

I really love the way she used a bit of our Cooper Foil Sheets (142020).

And finally a really cute Hey Chick (Sale-a-bration 143328/143331) card. After all I can’t get enough of this set! Kathleen teamed it up with the Hardwood Background stamp (133032/133035) and can you guess what the punch is?

Well it’s the Blossom Builder Punch (141469). What a great way to use this punch in an out of the box way!

And finally the cute little 3d treat that holds some Hershey’s Nuggets using the Balloon Adventures stamp set (142823).

I simply wrapped the 1″ x 3″ pieces of the Party Animal Designer Series Paper (142738) around each nugget and added a glue dot to hold them in place. Slipped them into our 2″ x 8″ Cellophane Bags (102210) and decorated them using our Balloon Bouquet Punch (140609) which made this a quick and easy project since the Duet Banner Punch (141483) fit the sentiment perfectly!

Part of the fun of this retreat is sharing ideas and learning about other crafting too. You should have seen the Alcohol Paintings some of the girls did – they were wonderful. I wish I would have gotten a photo of them to share with you. (Sigh… I always forget the camera once we get started. Having too much fun catching up with everyone.)

If the idea of having a great group of stamping friends appeals to you why not join my team? Not only will you get a wonderful discount on your Stampin’ Up! products, but you’ll have a wonderful group to craft with. We have such fun when we are together and sharing!

All Things Thanks

Here is a wonderful stamp set that contains 9 ways to say thank you and it contains some wonderful fonts too.

Here are two cards both use the Falling in Love Designer Series Paper but have different feels to them.

This first one was given to me by Jackie and is done in one of our In Colors, Sweet Sugarplum.

And this next one is from Gina and uses Calypso Coral and the adorable Metallic Enamel Shapes.

Once again I’m going to give you a supply list that includes both cards since I can’t decide!

Supplies:

Stamp Set: All Things Thanks (143089/143097)

Inks: Sweet Sugarplum (141418) and Calypso Coral Classic Ink (126983)

Paper: Falling in Love Designer Series Paper (142788), Pool Party (122924), Calypso Coral (122925), Bushing Bride (131198), and Very Vanilla Card stock (101650)

Accessories: Calypso Coral Thick Baker’s Twine (138412) and Sweet Sugarplum 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon (141428), Metallic Enamel Shapes (141678) and Basic Rhinestone Jewels (119246)
