Construction Zone #BackStage Swap Tutorial

Wow, I’m back from Vegas and another fantastic Stampin’ Up! event and sort of have my computer working, so I thought I’d share with you one of the cards that I made for my #BackStage swap in Las Vegas.

I really love the way they turned out and couldn’t pick a favorite color so I made several. I got a good response from my fellow swappers with this Annual Catalog stamp set which was nice too.

I couldn’t resist using the Construction Zone stamp set (161582) that was one of my first must haves but haven’t had time to play with. So since my computer was driving me nuts, I decided it was a great time to chill and create with this fun little set. And I had a blast so I’ll be sharing more tutorials with you soon.

Cute right? and it has some great all occasion sentiments. While my son is now in his 30s I can remember his love of his little tonka trucks and construction equipment. So I know that the cards I create with this set will bring a smile to his face, after all I think it is a great set for our guys all ages.

I chose Crushed Curry from the Regals Collection Designer Series Paper (161642) for my original design that I will share with you today for my tutorial, but as you can see fork lifts come in all colors so the Brights Collection works well too!

Around the Bend

This fun stamp set has a wonderful combination of images and sentiments perfect for creating cards to let folks know you appreciate them!

It also has a fun set of dies that cooridnates with the stamp set and gives you a fun edge.

Here is a lovely thank you card that uses the Around the Bend Stamp set (160648) and dies (160649) along with our Double Oval Punch (154242) to highlight the sentiment. Of course the Fresh as a Daisy Designer Series Paper (161289) makes choosing the color palette so quick and easy!

Biggest Wish Bold Birthday Card Tutorial

Today I’ve got a quick and easy card for you that has a bold feel using the Biggest Wish Stamp set (155052)

I just love the big bold sentiments in this set combined with a lovely font on the compagnion sentiment, don’t you?

So today’s card is done in shades of blue and the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper (161467) is perfect for this type look since the paper uses shades of Misty Moonlight, Balmy Blue, Night of Navy and Basic White. I’ve teamed it up with our Night of Navy 3/8″ Bordered Ribbon (160581) and fun Ombre Matte Decorative Dots (161448).

Team Time Fun

Each month I gather with my Team, the Blue Mountain Stampers and we share what we have been doing over the past weeks. Among other things we also swap cards and stamp together. It’s a lot of fun having a community of crafters that gather like this. Today’s cards are part of the swaps that were shared.

This first card uses the Marvelous Nature stamp set (161252) and our Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper (Online Exclusive 161139). The monochromatic card has been stamped using our

returning color Pretty Peacock and the wings have been partially cut so they have a bit of lift to them. The background has a bit of texture added to it by dry embossing with the Timeworn 3D Embossing Folder. A bit of shimmer was added with the Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels (158130). I love the way that these gems pick up the color your using them with.

This next is a book fold that has been created with the Zoo Crew Suite Collection (161319 )

The fun fold and little images have been cut from the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper (161304). And the sentiments have been stamped using the Zany Zoo stamp set (161305) using Memento Tuxedo Black and a little pop of color has been added with our Classic Matte Dots (158146).

Little Monkey

Oh what fun is the zoo! And these little monkeys are too cute.

Little Monkey Bundle (161379) is filled with adorable images and fun sayings AND has a coordinating Little Monkey Builder Punch (161378) who wouldn’t love that?

Check out these fun cards using the Bundle. This first card uses the punch for a bold look.

A bit of texture was added to the back ground with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder (156505) and our quick and easy Stampin’ Blends were used to color the vegetation. Or how about this fun little card to say HI to someone?

It also has been colored with our Stampin’ Blends and a to of “sky” has been added behind using the Blending Brushes (153611) and some Classic Ink.

Monkeys for us have become a family favorite when visiting the zoo. On a trip to Honolulu’s Zoo last year we ran across a Gibbon monkey, this little guy was very vocal. Check out this quick little video I took. Click HERE or on my photo below.

It was so funny we were mesmerized and spent quite a while watching him sing and sing. This little guy marks his territory by a whooping, piercing “song,” and he went on for a while, you could hear him across the zoo too. LOL. We’ve never seen anything like it. (You can learn more about him HERE on the zoo’s website). By the way this zoo was a wonderful, if you have a few hours why not check it out?
