Fun Faux Layer Center Flap Card

Yesterday I shared the fun Faux Layer technique with you and today I’ve stepped it up with a fun fold! I love the way this background turned out with just ink and couldn’t resist making more than one.

This card uses the same basic technique, but it has a bit of a surprise when you open the flap in the center. I’ve made this card for my Aunt but will be making some more for the graduates this year too as I think the sentiment will be great for that.

I’ve got a video tutorial for you again showing you not only how to create the faux layers, but also how to cut the card too. Why not check it out?

And of course here is a PDF for you with the supply list, directions, and video link so you can print it out and have everything in one place.

Greatest Journey & Faux Layers

Today’s card uses a fun and simple technique to create a wonderful look of multiple layers that create a scene using the Greatest Journey Dies (160593).

I’ve used simple masking, ink and my Blending Brushes for a backdrop for this card that I plan on using for a graduation card. I think the sentiment is perfect for that!

Want to see how I created it? I’ve got a video and a PDF tutorial for you today.

Highlight on Sale-a-bration’s Delicate Dahlias

This lovely stamp set (156601) filled with all occasions sentiments is one of our Sale-a-bration choices and it’s been very popular. Its wonderful 2 step images create lovely flowers with lots of depth.

Check out these lovely cards made with this set. This first card has tons of texture with the Scalloped Contours and Stitched Greenery Die used for the background. Done in Bumblebee and Saddle Brown Stazon (151508) the little Bumbleebee Trinket (155568) adds a little something special.

And this next card also uses the Scalloped Contours Dies (155560) along with the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper (155426).

Done in Polished Pink it creates a bright cheerful thank you card. Speaking of bright and cheerful, take a look at this next card that uses a bit of fussy cutting to make an impact.

Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Old Olive has been used along with the Pretty Pillows Box Dies (156321). And if you like techniques check out this next card that uses Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo Classic Inks.

The image has been first inked up in Daffodil Delight and then “Rock & Rolled” in our Flirty Flamingo. Texture has been added once again with the Scalloped Contours Dies and Ornate Floral Embossing Folder (152725). As you can see the Scalloped Contours Dies (155560) are a great addition to your crafting collection! And if you love soft and subtle check out this lovely card made using the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper (156494) from our Mini Catalog.

This card has a soft vintage feel to it and uses our In Colors Bumblebee, Soft Succulent, and Misty Moonlight. One of the things I love about our In Colors are the fun little Square Gems (155572) that come in all the colors that were used for this card. They are faceted and are Adhesive Backed making the not only fun but quick and easy to use too. And last but not least is this lovely card done in Fresh Freesia.

I really like monochromatic cards like this since they are great for not only the beginner but show off our beautiful colors too! This card has a ton of texture, not only do you have the Greenery Embossing Folder (152716) as a back drop but you also have faux layering. The Dahlia and label shape are just one layer! The labels has been sponged and paper pierced and the Dahlia is simply stamped to the left of the faux label creating wonderful depth. And of course those fun little In Color Jewels (155571) add just the right shine and elegance for this card.

Did you know Sale-a-bration ends in just 13 days? September 30th is the last day you can get our Sale-a-bration productions, so you’ll want to make sure to get your favorites before they are gone!
