My name is Jini Merck and I'm a Stampin' Up! Independent Demonstrator. I love being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, not only do I get to be creative every day, I also get to be a creative coach, offering fresh project ideas and encouragement to my customers and friends. For me, helping someone create that perfect project for a special occasion is the best feeling in the entire world. After all, creating cards, scrapbook pages, and gift items is about more than just stamps and ink—it’s about sharing a part of yourself with the people in your life. I live in Clarkesville which is in the North Georgia Mountains with my husband and two children. Although my family keeps me busy I enjoy the creativity of stamping and crafts and the fellowship stamping brings into my life. Spending time creativing cards and gifts for friends and family has been one of my favorite hobbies over the years.

Sunshine & Tulips

Tulips – childhood memories of them lining the walk way to the front door. My mom loves tulips and would always have them on the table for Easter morning if she could.

Today’s card highlights those lovely spring tulips with a fun stamp set and dies to create a wonderful spring card conveying love to family or friends.

This card is done using Lemon Lolly, Pool Party, and Pretty in Pink. A bit of sponging has been done around the vase to make it pop and the negative spaces of the die have been used to add tulips behind the die cut tulips for addition interest and depth.

I love the way that dies can be used in different ways and this die is rather fun since it not only cuts but also has some lifted elements on the largest die. You can see that HERE on an earlier card I shared with you.

Spring is in the air!

With the change of season coming why not put a spring in your step and give a little luck to someone too? The Good Luck stamp set (Online Exclusive 167223)

is one of those sets that can be used to convey those special wishes.

Check out today’s card that uses simple stamping to create well wishes to someone for a special event in their lives.

Using shades of green to stamp the 4 leaf clovers – Old Olive, Shaded Spruce, and Soft Sea Foam it conveys a spring time feel too.

In the last few days I’ve noticed these shades all over our North Georgia hills and fields, those wonderful shades of green are something I always look forward to as we head into spring somehow they are just more vibrant this time of year.

Easter Joy Shutter Card Tutorial

Today I’m sharing a quick and simple technique to create a fun camera shutter look. This technique is sooo simple but is defiantly a wow technique that I’m sure you’ll want to give it a go too!

I’ve used the Easter Joy Suite (166954) to create this card as it is filled with all kinds of goodies for Easter crafting.

The Easter Joy Specialty Designer Series Paper (166939) is a thicker paper than our regular Designer Series Paper making it perfect for 3d projects too. And the colors are quite wonderful for spring. The package also contains 2 sheets of quick project options as you can see behind the stamp set above.

I’ve used the fun colorful pattern with carrots, eggs, and flowers and chose the coordinating Peach Pie card stock to create the card’s shutter effect with.

I’ve whipped up a video tutorial for you so you can see just how simple this technique is to create!

Beautiful Bokeh Thanking You Card Tutorial

It seems like everyone is having babies right now in my daughters circle of friends and so I thought I’d whip up some soft thank you cards as part of their baby shower gift for them so I whipped up this card using the Thanking You stamp set (163718) and the positioning tool that you can get for free in the current promotion for our Starter Kit.

The Beautiful Bokeh Designer Series Paper (164607) is filled with wonderful colors that are soft and perfect for this kind of project since it contains 8 sheets of each pattern.

Throw Back Thursday with Healing Hugs

Recently I found some cards that I haven’t shared with you on my desk so today I’m beginning to share a series of tutorials I’ll be calling Throw Back Thursday since they highlight something you might already have in your craft supplies. They also include new products found in my Online Store.

One of the things I love about Stampin’ Up! is their product coordination and these project will show you just how easy it is to coordinate the old with the new.

Since it’s that time of year I thought I’d stare with the Healing & Hugs stamp set since we all have someone we know who might be feeling under the weather during cold and flu season.

This set contains cute little animals so it was one I definitely wanted to add to my collection. I’ve teamed it up with our fun Brights Designer Series Paper Assortment (165301) and used one of my favorite colors, Coastal Cabana.

Easter Basket

Love fun little techniques that step up your projects? How about an Embossing Folder technique that is quick and simple to do that has been used on this card?

Today’s card uses the Easter Basket Bundle (166947) to create this card. It also uses a technique of adding ink to the debossed side of the folder to add color.

How do you do that? It’s simple – you’ll want to use your Classic Ink pad or a brayer to add color to the inside of your embossing folder and then run it through your Stampin’ Cut & Emboss as normal. Clean up is easy simply run water over the inside and allow it to dry.

This creates a colorful background for your project. In addition to the All in a Row Embossing Folder (166989). This card also uses a watercolor wash for the bunny to create a soft feel. Simple stamping was used for the eggs and sentiment. And of course a bit of Bubble Bath Faux Linen Ribbon (167075) adds a bit of texture to the card and a fun detail.

So what do you think? Want to try this simple technique to add color to your embossing folders? While it can be a bit messy if you’re not careful it is a lot of fun!

Sweet Bugs

Love cute little cards that spread joy and maybe our desire for warmer weather while we sit in this deep freeze? Why not check out the Sweet Bugs stamp set (166995)?

The set is filled with cute little images that would make anyone smile and has some fun little sentiments too. And it is also found in a Suite of products, Cute as a Bug Suite (167007) so it has tons of coordinating products you can use to create.

Today’s card uses this fun little parade of bugs to create it’s focal point to spread some joy.

The parade has been colored using our Old Olive, Real Red and Daffodil Delight Classic Inks and Blender Pens (102845) to give them a soft watercolor look. And it has been mounted on the card front that highlights the colorful Cute as a Bug Designer Series Paper (166994). And finally Ladybug Garden Epoxy Shapes (167005) has been used, a few clear dots one of the cute little ladybugs add a bit of shine.

Have you used Blender Pens? If not they are easy to use and add value to your Classic Ink Pads. Using them is simple – simply press a bit of ink onto the lid of the pad, or Clear Block and lift it with the Blender Pen and start coloring. The amount of ink on the tip will a variety of shades for that color. And as you use the ink the color will soften giving you this fun watercolor look and shades of the same ink. Practice a bit on your Grid Paper to see what you like. I think once you try this simple technique you’ll enjoy coloring small images like this.
