Luau Beach Bag Tutorial

Here is a cute little Luau Beach Bag treat holder that I made for everyone who attended my Luau Catalog Launch last weekend. If you forgot yours – don’t worry I’ll be tucking it in with your order.

I thought that the In Colors this year went perfectly with a beach theme so I pulled out my NEW In Color Collection Designer Series Paper Stack (item 130136). The colors are so yummy – they remind me of the summer or sherbet, how about you? And don’t you just love the new patterns? The chevron in particular is right on trend and I thought was perfect for this little bag.

And if you haven’t already seen it you’re going to fall in love with the new 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Trim that comes in all 5 In Colors this year! Isn’t it just too stinking cute? I’m finding I’m reaching for it all the time to use in my projects.

Color Refresh Pocket Ring

Feel Goods

The Best things in life…. This sentiment from the Feel Goods stamp set is one of my favorites and I love the font that this sentiment set uses. How about you?

Today’s project is one that I received from my friend Cindy during our TEAM event last week. Cindy is always coming up with the cutest 3-ds for her swap.

As she told me the story about how she ran across these big paper clips and bought them because she thought they looked like Bermuda Bay, but then realized they were really Tempting Turquoise when she got them home. She reminded me of one of the items I like to keep with me when I was shopping, my color ring. Hmmm maybe this would be something you would enjoy too?

Any way, although the color wasn’t what she originally thought it was, she has made her project work beautifully with the Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper that she used. Don’t you think?

Whether the color was Bermuda Bay or not when I look at my giant paper clip sitting on my desk it makes me feel, well… good! The bright and cheerful butterflies are just fun – don’t you think?

Luau Graduation Bucket of Goodies

Yippie, got my camera back last night from my hubbie so now I can share with you this cute little project I made for my daughter’s friends using the Floral Frames Framelits! I had so much fun coming up with the poem for this little Luau Graduation Bucket of Goodies. Here is my group shot of the buckets.

Originally I saw this idea on Pinterest using a 2 liter soda bottle. So when I found these little buckets at my local store I figured maybe they might be able to do something with them afterwards. And even better my daughter wouldn’t float away after having to drink all that soda, (since I needed about 8 bottles and that meant a lot of soda!)

I originally made this card as one of my L uau graduation party invitation samples. It was cute and Kaitlin really liked it, but she loved the Luau Punch Art card even more. So I thought this would be a great way to attach the poem and keep in the luau theme of the party.

I used the Floral and Ovals Collection Framelits to create the flowers. For the center of the flowers I used the Creped Filter Paper (item 129393) from the Spring Catalog. First I punched the Creped Filter Paper using the 7/8” and 1 ¼” Scallop Circle Punches (item 129404/127811) then I spritzed them with Pool Party and my Stampin’ Sprizer and attached the layered flower with a brad. For the guys I just used brads for the center.

Here is what the poem on inside of the card said. I typed it up in My Digital Studio, printed it out, and used one of the smaller Oval Collection Framelits to cut it.

Way to Go, You ROCK,

After completing MOUNDS of homework, being a band NERD,

and PIECEing together all of your knowledge.

You’re RED HOT and have finally hit PAYDAY: graduation!

As you STRIDE off to college and into your future,

Remember you’re no DUMDUM, so don’t listen to any SNICKERS,

because you’re one HOT TAMALE and on your way to making a 100 GRAND.

Hope your summer is CRAZY fun and doesn’t go too FAST.

Luau Sea Glass Jar Tutorial

Have you ever had one of those days? Well yesterday was one for me that started with a flat tire and ended with finding out my husband took my camera that contained all the items I wanted to share with you this week to work. So although I didn’t share my Luau Sea Glass Jar Tutorial with you yesterday I’m happy to say I recreated it and that I’m able to today.

I made these cute little Luau Sea Glass Jars for my daughters Luau Graduation Party on Saturday. I set them around the food table as decorations filled with sand and flickering tea lights for a touch of ambiance.

They seemed to be a hit with the kids and they are sooo easy to make, you’re going to love it! The choices are endless –I’m already seeing cascading flowers made with our punches too, hmm. I think I need to make some more in a new In Colors that will be available tomorrow– lol.

By The Tide Cupcakes

Ok, here is the last post showing you some of the items I made for my Retirement Party this past Sunday. Today I am going to share with you how I made these cute little By the Tide cupcake toppers for the treat table and my Bon Voyage banner.

I used the By the Tide stamp set (item 129117/129120) from the Spring Catalog to make these cute little toppers to keep in line with the Bon Voyage theme of the retirement party.

I stamped the anchor image using Night of Navy Classic Ink (item 126970) onto Whisper White card stock (item 100730). Punched out the image using my 3/4″ Circle Punch (item 119873) and attached this to a 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch (item 127811)Night of Navy card stock (item 100867) piece.

I then layered that onto a Real Red card stock (item 100052) 1 3/8″ circle and finally onto a 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle (item 119854) Night of Navy piece.

Finally I added a dab of Liquid Adhesive (item 110755) to the back and added a toothpick and a second Night of Navy Scallop Circle to cover up the adhesive.

Here is a close up of the cupcake topper. How cute right?

And finally the banner – I really loved the way this turned out. I used My Digital Studio along with the Travel Journey Digital Kit (item 121071) and World Traveler Photobook (item 130066) Digital Downloads to create the images and Designer Series Paper that I cut the letters out with using my Big Shot.

I took my Regals Designer Series Paper Stack (item 117154) and used the Night of Navy patterns and cut my paper into 4″ x 6″ pieces. I cut out the bottom triangles by finding the center, cutting up the middle to the point I wanted and then cutting in from both sides to that center mark. (hope that makes sense) Finally I attached the flags to some twine by punching holes in the two corners using my crop-a-dile and stringing the twine through. I tied bows on each end to finish it off.

A Cup of Thanks

Here is a great little treat item that we made during my Retirement Party Sunday. It’s a great little gift to give a friend or anyone for that matter. This fun little pocket made with our Petite Pocket Die holds a couple of coffees, creamers or even biscotti. This is quick and easy to do and one of my favorite things to do with punches. I’m so glad that Pool Party is part of the Color Refresh and will be added to our Subtles Collection in the 2013-2104 Catalog however, I’m really going to miss this Pool Party 3/8″ Ruffled Ribbon (item 122975). I’ve really loved using this ribbon because it is so easy to work with and a great size.

Bon Voyage Post It Note Holders

As promised in yesterday post I’ll be sharing how I made these cute little Bon Voyage Post It Note Holders with you today. A friend of mine showed me how to make these little holders during one of our demonstrator events. I thought they were just too cute so I was excited when I ran across them and decided to use them as my little gift to everyone who attended. After all who doesn’t need Post It Notes right?

I think these little Bon Voyage Post It Note Holders are sooo cute that not only am I using them for the Retirement Party but also as little gifts to my daughters friends who will be attending her graduation party – I thought the little piece of luggage was in keeping with them heading off to college too since they’ll be heading off to a new adventure in life.

I created these little Bon Voyage Post It Note Holders using some of our current retiring products. I chose Lucky Limeade card stock (item 122926) and my favorite Designer Series Paper, Floral District (item 126919). I love the colors in this Designer Series Paper; it’s just so bright and cheerful. Did you see the little tags? I used the Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set (item 117002/120501) and chose the words enjoy and life to stamp the two little tags with. I’m really like this stamp set, it gives you such great choices to create all kind of phrases.

Lovely Letters Alphabet

This is one of my favorite stamp sets and I’m really going to miss it when it is gone. Lovely Letters Alphabet (item 115030/127796) is so versitle and we just don’t have anything else that comes close to a monogram set.

Say goodbye to the Two Tags Die

I hated to see the Two Tags Die (item 115954) on the Retirement List (click HERE for the Retiring Accessories list). I’ve shed some tears over this one – It is absolutely one of my favorite dies and is a lot of fun to use too.

Here is a great card I got in a swap at Leadership using our Parker’s Pattern Designer Series Paper (item 131021) and the Two Tags Die. Isn’t it lovely?

And here are the great little bookmarks I made earlier this spring using the Spring Sampler Stamp Set (item 125510/125512). Click here to see my earlier post with more details on these little guys.
