Turtle Friends

I love turtles and find them fascinating, always looking for their little heads peeking out of the water or sunning themselves on the log when at a pond. I think this love for turtles was instilled in me with my first pet turtle as a young child. Remember, the little turtles that you placed in the clear plastic “pond” with a little palm tree in the middle? I’m afraid my little guy tended to be an escape artist. lol

So when I saw the Turtle Friend Bundle (155819) I immediately fell in love with it’s cute images and all occasions sentiments.

The fact that the bundle includes a punch makes it quick and easy to use too! Check out these projects made with the bundle. This first card done in Bumblebee and Old Olive uses the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder (149643) as a back drop.

The Tailor Made Tags Dies (155563) highlight these cute little duo. And this next monochromatic card is done in our new Soft Succulent.

It uses our fun 2021- 2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum (155616) for a pop of shimmer behind the turtle. This paper is awesome and comes in all 5 In Colors, and it is great for overlaying on another layer like this project does.

This next project is a fun fold that swings up the little turtle up for display.

Created using our Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper (155761) and Evening Evergreen the turtle has a shinny shell that was created by adding our Shimmery Crystal Effects (150892) and that shine is also carried over in the Genial Gems (155500) that are used on the sentiment panel. Cute right?

The final project I’m sharing with you today is a treat bag made with our Ombre Gift Bags (155479) filled with some turtle chocolate treats.

Check out the adorable little flower, it’s our Loose Flower Flourishes (155808) that come in 3 of our 2021-2023 In Colors. This accessory is perfect for using with our In Colors since they are a great way to bring trendy colors to your stamping.

So what do you think? Do you love these little turtles too? Why not get your Turtle Friends Bundle today and save 10%? Stop by my Online Store for this bundle and check out all our new projects simply by clicking on my link below.

More Tropical Oasis

This Suite is one of my favorite in the Mini Catalog and here are some more cards made using the products from this suite for you today.

This first card is a fancy fold, called the 4 fold card.

When opened it’s like a little book – so much fun. Check out the beach chair from the Seasonal Layers Dies. Soooo cute!

And here is a fun card done with the In the Tropic Dies.

Can you see the texture on the pineapple? The Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper was used to cut out the die, giving it a lot of texture – so simple, but it packs a wow factor.

And this last card is perfect for a retirement, thank you, or special trip

Do you like these cards? How can this bright, cheerful suite of products not make you smile with their tropical feel? If you love this suite as much as I do, why not take a class with me that includes the Timeless Tropical Bundle and more?

Tropical Oasis product based Class for April – when you sign up for this class you’ll not only get to make some fun projects, you’ll receive the Tropical Oasis stamp set, dies and trinkets all for one low price. Basically it is a free Class AND when you reserve your spot before March 25th for this class you’ll get to choose a Sale-a-bration product too! You can find all the details on my Calendar of Events HERE. You’ll want to save your spot today either for my LIVE event (that will be held at a later date) or for the Kit to Go. Both are great options since you’ll get PDFs and Videos with both choices.

So what do you think? Want to join me for class? Click HERE for my Calendar of Events and more information on my Saturday, April 11th Class now.

Please Note: With the quickly changing information we have been receiving I wanted to let you know that I will not be holding my LIVE events through the end of April. This is a step I didn’t take lightly, but one I feel is important to help do my part to protect not only my family, but also my stamping friends too.

That being said, as we all practice sheltering in place in different ways across the US, I know that stamping can be a positive way to reduce stress during this stressful time. So I’ll be making some modifications to my classes and offering them in a different way! While I have been offering Kits to Go with my product based classes already, I’ll be introducing my Virtual Class option too. I’ve already sent this out in my Newsletter today, but I’ll be sharing more information with you soon here on my blog.

Spooktacular Bash

It’s a rainy day here in Northeast Georgia so I’m going to take advantage of that and stamp. This kind of weather is perfect for that kind of thing I think. So today’s post will be a quick one sharing a card with you that I thought I had shared earlier in the month. So here we go. Seems I need to spend a bit of time cleaning up piles on my desk too. lol

Today’s card is a fancy fold card that uses just a few score lines to create a wow factor – This card will be simple to make for your Halloween fun

Using our Spectacular Bash Suite of Products it’s sure to make that special trick or treater smile when they open it.

How do you create this fold? Simply take a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ card stock base and score it 2 1/8″ and then at 4 1/4″. Yep, it’s that simple!

Merry Moose

This little guy immediately drew my attention when I first saw the 2019 Holiday Catalog back in August. I’m not sure what it is about this set, whether its the fact that it has a punch, is filled with nature and wildlife options or the sentiments – I think it is a great addition to my collection.

Now that you’ve seen the set check out these great cards

This first one is simply gorgeous in person as it is a fancy fold and creates a wonderful winter scene.

This fold is created with a few score lines and will fold flat for mailing. It does have a couple of layers that the moose are on which gives it more depth to the card

base: 4 1/4″ x 8″ ; scored at 1 1/4″, 2 1/2″, 5 1/2″, and 6 3/4″

The front snow layer is 5 1/2″ wide and then the two – 1/2″ strips are just 4 inches long and scored on each end at 1/2″. These were added at two different heights and attached to the inside panels.

I can’t wait to try one of these myself. I’ll be sharing a tutorial when I do for sure!

And here is a another card done in Crumb Cake and Early Espresso

Both of these cards use the Woodland 3D Embossing Folder (139673) which is currently on back order and unavailable to order. But no worries it should be back in stock by mid November. Email me if you would like me to add you to my list and I’ll let you know when it is available again.

A Good Man & more

As I mentioned yesterday, today’s cards are all swaps done by my team members at this month’s team meeting. I always love to see what they are creating when we gather – and swapping is a lot of fun since we all have different styles and favorite sets. So we get to see lots of new ideas.

I’ll start with the Fancy Folds which were clearly on a lot of our minds – after all they are a lot of fun to make.

This first card is a Tunnel Card using the A Good Man stamp set (149270) and the Stitched Shapes Dies (145372) that was created for Father’s Day

I love the sentiment peaking out from the rectangle on the inside and can’t wait to try one of these myself, so stay tuned. lol

And here is a lovely Four Fold Card using the Beauty Abounds stamp set (148726)

I love the Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana together – clean and crisp. The pop of color on the butterfly wings was done with our Stampin’ Blends.

And of course our classic Black & White – This Pop Up Corner Card using the Beautiful Promenade stamp set (146842) and Basket Weave 3D Embossing Folder (151797 available again soon) is sure to impress.

And here is a card using the Healing Hugs stamp set (148223)

Can you guess where the sentiment is from? It’s the Vibrant Vase stamp set (148656) that has been cut out using our Stitched Shapes Dies ( 145372 ).

And last but not least the final card for the day uses the Love What You Do stamp set (148042) using Merry Merlot and Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends – a rather striking color combination I thought.

And how about the final swap? It’s a 3d project – A little desk caddie to hold our adhesives using the It Starts with Art Bundle (151090) and the coordinating Designer Series Paper, Follow Your Art (149489).

Perfect for any crafter’s desk!

Have a favorite? Why not leave me a comment and let me know – I know I can’t pick just one. LOL.

If having a group of crafters to gather and/or share appeals to you, AND you’d love a discount on your Stampin’ Up! products maybe joining my team, the Blue Mountain Stampers might be the right fit for you. It Starts with Art Wiper Card Tutorial

I love gathering with my team each month and sharing – after all isn’t that part of the fun of stamping, the community? So last month when my friend Sue shared a card with us during Team Craft Time I loved the idea of her sharing it at June’s Meeting. We made it a team effort, she shared the basic wiper base how to and I designed a card for us all to make.

Here is what I came up with as far as the card design. I love the craft focused Follow Your Art Designer Series Paper with it’s bright colorful patterns. And this movement card seemed perfect for the It Starts with Art stamp set too.

While these cards look difficult to make, they really are quite simple once you get the hang of them. I’ve broken down my tutorial into two parts for you the card base itself and then how I decorated it to make things a bit easier. So you’ll want to watch both parts to see the complete project.

It Starts with Art Wiper Card Video Tutorial – Part 1

It Starts with Art Wiper Card Video Tutorial – Part 2

And of course it is always nice to have the printable version to along with the complete supply list for reference.

Beauty Abounds Never Ending Card Tutorial

Today’s card is a fancy fold. This past month one of my team mates, Sue shared the way you can make this card with the rest of us. I couldn’t resist giving it a try with the Beauty Abounds stamp set and our lovely Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper that you can earn for FREE this month.

Here is what I came up with. There are 4 sides to this card so you have Never Ending options. LOL!

You can earn this Sale-a-bration product when you place a minimum purchase for the supplies I used to make this card, or for that matter and purchases. How great is that?

Here we go

This card is sure to impress!

Want to see how I made it now? I’ve tweaked a few things that Sue showed us since I found it easier for me to put it together this way. So here is my video tutorial for you.

This card can seem pretty complex until you break it down one side at a time – and of course the more you “work it” by opening all four sides in order the easier it gets, since the card will kind of have a “memory” of its movement.

And it’s a special sized card, so it won’t fit in a standard envelope; so you can make your own envelope for it using the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper and the Envelope Punch Board (133774). Making it extra special for that special person who receives it!

Just a tip: For a more complicated card like this I like to keep a “pattern” that I’ve made with scratch paper or card stock with the directions – so the next time I want to make one I have a reference to look at too.

Enjoy!

And stop back by tomorrow when I’ll be sharing some of the wonderful projects my team members brought to the March meeting to share.
